West Point Gold expands drill program at Gold Chain

WPG · Price
Executive Summary
- West Point Gold Corp. has expanded its fully funded drill program at the Gold Chain project from 15,000 metres to a minimum of 20,000 metres, with drilling expected to continue at least until the end of May 2026.
- The company has received Permits for the first plan of operations (POO No. 1), enabling deeper drilling at the Tyro Main zone and below the high-grade zone at Northeast Tyro.
- Recent geophysical surveys (CSAMT and ground gravity) have been completed to improve targeting, with preliminary analysis suggesting successful mapping of the Tyro Northeast mineralized corridor and identification of major structures at the Frisco Graben.
Key Details
- Drilling Expansion: The drill program is expanded to a minimum of 20,000 metres. Drilling is expected to continue at least until the end of May 2026, potentially resulting in additional metres.
- Current Progress: Since the program began in September 2025, the company has drilled 11,968 metres.
- Pending Results: Results are pending for 23 holes representing 4,063 metres from the Tyro Main zone, South Tyro, Sheep Trail, and Bull 8 targets.
- Active Rigs: Three drill rigs are currently active at Gold Chain: two at the Tyro Main zone and one testing/following up on stepout targets.
- Permitting: Permits received for POO No. 1, allowing for planned deeper drilling at the Tyro Main zone and below the high-grade zone at Northeast Tyro.
- Geophysical Surveys:
- CSAMT: Completed over the Tyro Northeast vein system and Frisco Graben. Total of 31,500 line metres recorded. Preliminary analysis suggests the Tyro Northeast mineralized corridor is sufficiently resistive for mapping and the base of the steam-generated clay-silica-hematite cap over the Frisco Graben can be identified.
- Ground Gravity: Conducted over the entire Gold Chain project area to identify primary structures responsible for gold prospect dispersion. Data processing is incomplete, but results appear to identify major structures influencing Miocene volcanics and hydrothermal fluid movement.
- Strategic Goals: The company aims to deliver a maiden resource at the Tyro Main zone and make a new discovery at stepout targets. A discovery has already been made at the Black Dyke stepout target.
- Equedia Engagement: West Point Gold engaged Equedia Network Corp. for a 12-month term for a one-time fee of $500,000 plus taxes, payable at commencement. No securities will be issued as compensation. The agreement is subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval.
Notable Quotes
- "Thanks to the support of our shareholders through the recent financing, we are well positioned to drill aggressively at Gold Chain and meet our dual goals for 2026: a maiden resource and a new discovery. Our primary focus is to deliver a maiden resource at the Tyro Main zone. The plan of operations allows us to drill deeper and beneath the Tyro Main and Northeast Tyro zones and expand the high-grade zone to the northeast. While we have already achieved our secondary goal of making a discovery at one of our stepout targets with the recent success at Black Dyke, there are additional targets to follow up on and test. With the three rigs on site and a fully funded expanded program, investors can expect a steady flow of drill results over the next several months," stated Derek Macpherson, president and chief executive officer.
