District Intersects up to 198 m of Cumulative Alum Shale in Drill Hole VIK-26-005 at Target A on the Viken Property

DMX · Price

District Metals Corp. announced significant Alum Shale intersections in drill holes VIK-26-002 through VIK-26-005 at Target A on the Viken Property in Sweden, validating the effectiveness of their 2025 MobileMT geophysical survey. Drill hole VIK-26-005 recorded the highest cumulative intersection with 198.3 meters of Alum Shale, while VIK-26-004 intersected 177.1 meters, demonstrating a thick, structurally stacked sequence of graphitic Alum Shale.

The company notes that while visual logging and radioactivity confirm the presence of Alum Shale, geochemical results are required to determine grade and continuity; however, cumulative thicknesses exceeding 50 meters are considered highly encouraging for potential mining development. Results confirm that the 2025 MobileMT survey effectively mapped shallow, thick sequences of graphitic Alum Shale associated with conductive anomalies at Target A, extending beyond the known Viken Deposit.

Drill hole VIK-26-005 intersected a cumulative 198.3 m of Alum Shale within down-hole depths from 24.0 m to 274.1 m. Specific intervals included 67.60 m to 263.60 m (196.00 m interval) and 24.00 m to 26.30 m (2.30 m interval).

Drill hole VIK-26-004 intersected a cumulative 177.1 m of Alum Shale within down-hole depths from 26.6 m to 233.5 m. Specific intervals included 44.20 m to 211.80 m (167.60 m interval) and 26.60 m to 36.10 m (9.50 m interval).

Drill hole VIK-26-002 intersected a cumulative 82.0 m of Alum Shale within down-hole depths from 12.0 m to 146.2 m. Specific intervals included 68.00 m to 146.20 m (78.20 m interval) and 12.00 m to 15.80 m (3.80 m interval).

Drill hole VIK-26-003 intersected a cumulative 73.0 m of Alum Shale within down-hole depths from 15.5 m to 193.5 m. Specific intervals included 76.60 m to 125.10 m (48.50 m interval), 39.00 m to 49.50 m (10.50 m interval), 185.15 m to 193.50 m (8.35 m interval), and 159.40 m to 165.00 m (5.60 m interval).

Technical methodology involved measuring radioactivity using a handheld Exploranium GR-110 scintillometer (Counts Per Second). All intervals reported are core lengths; true thickness is yet to be determined. Visual logging identified lithology as Graphitic Black shale (Alum Shale Fm).

"We are very encouraged by the consistency of the drilling results at Target A, with all four holes in this release intersecting significant cumulative intervals of Alum Shale, highlighted by 198.3 m in VIK-26-005 and 177.1 m in VIK-26-004. The degree of structural stacking observed at Target A is particularly impressive, given that the natural thickness of Alum Shale typically ranges from 5 to 20 m," said Garrett Ainsworth, CEO.

Geochemical assays are required to establish mineralization grade and continuity. The company will continue drilling at Target Areas A and B, integrating geological and geophysical data. The release references a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) filed July 17, 2026, for the Viken Deposit, outlining an after-tax NPV8% of US$2.88 billion and an IRR of 45.9%.
