Zacatecas Silver Reports High-Grade Gold and Silver Rock Chip Sampling at Cumaro, Sonora, with Assays up to 40.6 g/t Gold and 253 g/t Silver
Zacatecas reports high-grade epithermal sampling at its Cumaro deposit, advancing the Sonora pipeline as a drill permit remains pending.

Zacatecas Silver Corp. (ZAC) has reported high-grade reconnaissance rock chip sampling results from its Cumaro gold-silver project in Sonora, Mexico. Assays returned up to 40.6 g/t gold and 253 g/t silver from outcropping low sulphidation epithermal veins.
The sampling program covered 1.5 km of a known 10+ km strike length, leaving the majority of the property largely unsampled. Samples were collected from the uppermost levels of the system, above the boiling zone, meaning surface oxidation likely suppressed assay values relative to fresher material at depth.
The company submitted a drill permit application to SEMARNAT for a program of up to ten drill pads to test deeper, potentially higher-grade portions of the system. Additionally, high-resolution multispectral satellite imagery has been commissioned to guide a follow-up rock chip and channel sampling program.
Zacatecas Silver Corp. (ZAC) released a standard exploration update that aligns with its stated strategy of advancing a multi-asset Sonora pipeline, which includes the Oso Negro, Cumaro, and El Cristo projects. The announcement confirms operational momentum and regulatory progress, specifically the submission of a drill permit, but does not introduce new financial data, production milestones, or unexpected strategic shifts.
Given the company's history of frequent exploration updates and the incremental nature of rock chip sampling ahead of drilling, the market likely anticipated this progression. While the results are positive for the project's geological potential, they do not materially alter the company's near-term financial outlook.
Zacatecas Silver Corp. (ZAC) is a Canadian precious metals exploration company focused on building a pipeline of high-grade, underexplored epithermal gold-silver projects in Mexico. Its flagship assets include the Zacatecas Silver Project, which features the El Cristo and Panuco targets, as well as a newly acquired Sonora portfolio comprising the Oso Negro, Cumaro, La Lola, and Ejutla properties through option agreements.
The company’s strategy centers on rapid reconnaissance sampling, drill targeting, and permitting to advance multiple undrilled or underdrilled systems simultaneously. Additionally, the Esperanza Gold Project in Morelos is an advanced, open-pittable oxide heap-leach asset, though development is currently stalled due to Mexican regulatory opposition to open-pit mining.
