Xali Gold Submits FTA Application and Selects Drill Contractor for Pico Machay
Xali Gold has filed a drilling permit for the Pico Machay project, targeting a November start date for its exploration activities.

Xali Gold Corp. (XGC) has submitted its Ficha Técnica Ambiental (FTA) application to Peru’s Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) for resource confirmation and exploration drilling at the Pico Machay Gold Project. The company has contracted Geologia Estudios Medio Ambientales Drilling & Construction S.R.L. (GEMA) to execute an initial 3,000-metre diamond drilling program.
Drilling is targeted to commence in early November 2026, pending a regulatory review period of approximately 10 days. The program will twin ~2,000 metres of historical reverse circulation (RC) holes to verify previous results and improve understanding of gold mineralization controls. Data from this drilling will support an updated mineral resource estimate and a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) to evaluate development options.
Xali Gold Corp. (XGC) has advanced its exploration program with the submission of a Field Work Authorization (FTA) and the selection of a drill contractor, marking a planned step following the December 2025 acquisition of Pico Machay. Throughout 2026, the company has systematically progressed through permitting, community engagement, baseline studies, and sampling as part of its established operational roadmap.
The announcement does not introduce unexpected financial terms, new strategic partnerships, or grade surprises. While it confirms operational execution, it does not alter the company's fundamental risk profile or immediate liquidity constraints. XGC’s stock has declined from a March 2026 peak of $0.33 to $0.20, a move that has already priced in execution risk and dilution concerns. This routine operational update is unlikely to trigger a significant immediate price reaction unless accompanied by a capital raise or major assay results.
Xali Gold Corp. (XGC) is a gold exploration company focused on the Pico Machay Gold Project in the Huancavelica province of Peru, located in the Southern Peru Epithermal Gold-Silver Belt. The project is at an advanced exploration stage. Historical engineering studies conducted between 2005 and 2009 by Aquiline Resources targeted a low-cost, low strip-ratio open-pit heap-leach operation based on a $700/oz gold price.
Historical resource estimates, which are not yet classified as current resources under NI 43-101, include 264,600 oz Measured & Indicated (10.6 Mt @ 0.78 g/t Au) and 446,000 oz Inferred (23.9 Mt @ 0.58 g/t Au). Recent 2026 channel sampling returned high-grade intervals, including:
- 2.92 g/t Au over 31.5m (Surface Channel 1)
- 4.41 g/t Au over 13.7m (Underground Channel 3 EW)
The company has shifted strategic focus from its El Oro projects in Mexico to Pico Machay due to regulatory delays and claim cancellations in Mexico.
