Midland Identifies New Gold-Bearing Boulders During the First Phase of Its 2026 Exploration Program on the Caniapisc Au Project

Midland discovers new gold boulders at the Caniapisc deposit while its stock continues to drift lower during the current exploration phase.

Executive Summary

Midland Exploration Inc. announced the initial results from the first phase of its 2026 summer exploration program at the Caniapisc Au project in Quebec. The program identified new gold-bearing boulders and outcrops located approximately 2.5 km northeast of the 2025 discovery area.

A maximum grab sample returned 15.8 g/t Au from a banded amphibolite containing a pyritic quartz vein. Five samples returned >1.0 g/t Au, four samples returned 0.5–1.0 g/t Au, and 18 samples returned 0.1–0.5 g/t Au. A notable multi-element sample returned 2.46 g/t Au, >100 g/t Ag, 0.8% Zn, >5000 ppm Pb, and 7.7% MnO.

New gold-bearing boulders (>1.0 g/t Au) were identified near chargeability anomalies in the southern portion of the project. The team collected 152 rock samples and 532 soil samples. B-horizon soil results and results from two additional prospecting phases (August and September) are pending.

Geophysical IP chargeability anomalies remain unexplained due to a lack of outcrops in the specific target area, suggesting glacially transported boulders may originate from these subsurface sources.

Material Impact

Midland Exploration Inc. (MD) released results that represent an expected, incremental step in the company's 2026 exploration roadmap rather than a market-moving breakthrough. While the 15.8 g/t Au intercept is solid, it is lower than the 24.5 g/t Au maximum recorded in 2025, indicating the new area is still in early discovery stages. The identification of a multi-element signature (Au-Ag-Zn-Pb-Mn) adds geological complexity and potential upside, but no immediate drilling program has been announced for this specific new boulder field.

The news aligns with previous expectations set in the February and June 2026 exploration updates. It validates the exploration model but does not materially alter near-term cash flows or valuation. Given the routine nature of summer prospecting and the pending status of soil and additional prospecting results, the market impact is expected to be limited.
