Tinka Launches PEA Update Evaluating Combined Colquipucro and Ayawilca Development Scenarios

Tinka’s staged development PEA update seeks to de-risk Ayawilca capital requirements ahead of 2027 results.

Executive Summary

Tinka Resources Limited has officially commenced a 2026 Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) update for its Ayawilca zinc-silver-tin project in Peru. SRK Consulting (UK) is leading the PEA update, while SLR Consulting (Canada) is updating the Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) to incorporate higher silver price assumptions and recent geological reinterpretations. Results are targeted for early 2027.

The study evaluates a staged development strategy: an initial open-pit silver operation at the nearby Colquipucro deposit, followed by an underground zinc-silver-lead mine at Ayawilca. CEO Dr. Graham Carman highlights that the staged approach could reduce initial capital requirements and enhance project value.

A fully funded 5,000-metre diamond drilling program at Ayawilca is scheduled to commence in late Q4 2026, focusing on resource expansion. This drilling will not be included in the PEA results.

The Colquipucro deposit holds a 2016 resource of: - 7.4 Mt at 60 g/t Ag (Indicated) - 8.5 Mt at 48 g/t Ag (Inferred)

These figures were originally cut off at US$24/oz. Management notes silver prices have nearly trebled since the previous 2024 PEA.

Material Impact

Tinka Resources Limited (TK) announced a routine progression of its previously disclosed exploration and evaluation plans, including the re-evaluation of Colquipucro and a staged development concept. These elements were already outlined in the company’s May 2026 updates.

The announcement does not include new financial data, a resource upgrade, or a capital raise. The Pre-Feasibility Study (PEA) update is a standard technical study expected to take until early 2027 to complete. The market has likely already priced in the timeline for the PEA update and the planned 5,000m drill program. The news serves as a validation of management's execution rather than a market-moving catalyst.

Impact on the stock price is expected to be neutral to mildly positive in the short term, with no immediate change to the fundamental investment thesis.
