Edison Lithium Provides Update on Proposed Acquisition of Joutel North-West and Gagne Properties
Edison’s Quebec gold option clears technical report review, nearing TSXV approval for the project.

Edison Lithium Corp. issued an update regarding its February 27, 2026 option agreement to earn a 100% interest in the Joutel North-West (gold) and Gagné (gold-copper) properties from Globex Mining Enterprises Inc. The transaction remains subject to final acceptance by the TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV).
An independent NI 43-101 technical report was filed with an effective date of July 8, 2026. The company is actively working to satisfy the remaining conditions outlined in the TSXV's conditional acceptance letter. The properties are subject to a 3% Gross Metal Royalty (GMR) retained by Globex, with Edison holding a right of first refusal to purchase the GMR.
Edison Lithium Corp. (EDDY) released a routine regulatory update on October 1, 2026, regarding a transaction originally announced in March 2026. The company expects progress toward TSXV acceptance, aligning with prior milestones including the completion of the NI 43-101 report in September and core verification in July.
The update introduces no new financial data, operational results, or strategic pivots. Consequently, the company’s fundamental risk/reward profile and immediate liquidity constraints remain unchanged. Market impact is expected to be minimal, as the transaction was already priced in and the next step—final exchange approval—is considered a procedural formality.
Edison Lithium Corp. (EDDY), a junior explorer listed on the TSX-V, is shifting its focus from lithium and cobalt assets to gold exploration in Quebec. Its flagship holdings are the Joutel North-West and Gagné properties, situated along the South Break of the Casa Berardi Structural Zone, approximately 65 km southwest of Matagami. The region is considered highly prospective, lying adjacent to Agnico Eagle’s Eagle-Telbel mine, which historically produced approximately 1.1 million ounces of gold at an average grade of 5.8 g/t.
Historic drilling conducted by Orford Mining, now part of Alamos Gold, identified multiple gold intercepts. These include 54.7m @ 1.1 g/t Au and 20.64m @ 1.11 g/t Au, which contained a high-grade interval of 0.64m @ 14.7 g/t Au. Prior to this strategic pivot, the company held lithium and cobalt properties known as Lexi, Kittson, and Alkali. These assets were fully impaired or expensed following a voluntary change in accounting policy.
