Edison Lithium Appoints Andrew Gainsbury as CFO and Director, Announces Passing of Director Jay Richardson, and Provides Update on Joutel and Gagne Gold Project Transaction
Edison advances its Quebec gold option and appoints a new chief financial officer while releasing updated technical reporting for the project.

Edison Lithium Corp. (EDDY) announced the appointment of Andrew Gainsbury as Chief Financial Officer and Director, effective July 23, 2026, following his service as Acting CFO. The company also confirmed the passing of former Director and former CFO James Richardson.
In an operational update, Edison Lithium provided details regarding its option agreement to acquire a 100% interest in the Joutel North-West and Gagne gold-copper properties from Globex Mining. The company confirmed the location of historic Orford Mining drill cores at the property site, with photos verifying significant historical intersections. The transaction remains subject to the finalization of an NI 43-101 technical report by Steven Lauzier, P.Geo., and final acceptance from the TSX Venture Exchange.
Edison Lithium Corp. (EDDY) has appointed a permanent Chief Financial Officer, replacing the individual who had been serving in an acting capacity. The company also announced the passing of a former director.
These updates serve as incremental follow-ups to the March 2026 option announcement. The market was already aware of the pending NI 43-101 report and TSXV approval. No new financial terms, exploration results, or strategic shifts were introduced in the release. The news is expected and does not materially alter capital requirements or the project timeline.
Edison Lithium Corp. is a TSX Venture-listed junior exploration company. Its flagship projects are the Joutel North-West (gold) and Gagne (gold-copper) properties, located along the South Break of the Casa Berardi Structural Zone in Quebec, approximately 65 km SW of Matagami. The area is adjacent to past-producing mines, including Agnico Eagle’s Eagle-Telbel-Eagle West deposits, which had a historic production of approximately 1.1 million ounces. The company holds an option to earn a 100% interest in these properties, subject to a 3% Gross Metal Royalty (GMR) retained by Globex.
Prior assets include lithium properties in Argentina, for which the sale was terminated, as well as cobalt in Ontario and alkali in Saskatchewan. These assets were all impaired due to a voluntary accounting policy change.
