Lahontan Drills 16.5m Grading 2.72 g/t Au and 2.8 g/t Ag at Santa Fe Heap Leach Pad Two
Lahontan’s Pad Two re-drill intersected a 16.5m wide 2.75 g/t AuEq pocket within a bulk pad averaging 0.5 g/t Au and 40% cyanide solubility.

Lahontan Gold Corp. (LG) has released initial 2026 Sonic core results from Heap Leach Pad Two at its Santa Fe project, covering 10 holes for a total of 168.9 metres. The company reported a headline intercept of 16.5 metres grading 2.72 g/t Au and 2.8 g/t Ag, noting that nearly every 0.76-metre interval contains meaningful gold-silver mineralization.
The weighted average of all pad samples to date is 0.50 g/t Au, 3.3 g/t Ag, or 0.54 g/t AuEq. Historical feed for HLP Two was 3.76 million tonnes grading 0.55 g/t Au and 2.9 g/t Ag, with an expected residual grade of about 0.29 g/t Au. CN-extractable gold averages only 40% of fire-assay values, ranging from 5% to 82%.
Ten of 26 completed holes are reported, with 86 additional holes planned across four pads.
Lahontan Gold Corp. (LG) is a brownfields developer with a reported 2.385 moz AuEq resource and a C$151M market value. Heap leach pad reprocessing represents incremental feed upside rather than a discovery or a new deposit.
A rough size check indicates that HLP Two contains 3.76 Mt of historical feed. At 0.50 g/t Au fire-assay residual, that is roughly 60 koz in situ gold. At 40% CN recovery, recoverable gold is roughly 24 koz. Even if all four pads ultimately deliver several times that, it would be a modest addition relative to the existing 2.385 moz resource.
The market had not re-rated on the September 1 stockpile results, and the shares remain near C$0.37.
Lahontan Gold Corp. is a Nevada-focused gold-silver development company. Its flagship Santa Fe Mine project is a 28.3 km² past-producing open-pit heap-leach property with historic production of 359,202 oz Au and 702,067 oz Ag from 1988 to 1995.
The current NI 43-101 resource estimate is 1,195,000 oz AuEq Indicated at 0.78 g/t AuEq and 1,190,000 oz AuEq Inferred at 0.61 g/t AuEq. The company also holds the West Santa Fe satellite project and other Walker Lane targets.
Financials show no revenue, Q1 2026 cash of about C$11.96M, negative operating cash flow, and a going-concern warning. The company is dependent on future equity financing. Reported shares outstanding at Q1 2026 are 408.7M.
