Lahontan Mobilizes Drill Rig to West Santa Fe, Grants Stock Options
Lahontan mobilizes a drill rig for a 3,500m campaign at West Santa Fe alongside granting management options.

Lahontan Gold Corp. has mobilized a Foremost MPD-1500 track-mounted reverse-circulation (RVC) drill rig to its West Santa Fe Project in Nevada. The company plans to drill approximately 3,500 metres across 35 holes to define resources and test step-out targets, building on the success of its maiden 2025 drilling campaign which confirmed high-grade oxide mineralization.
In addition to the drilling update, the company disclosed the grant of 3,000,000 stock options to officers and consultants.
Lahontan Gold Corp. (LG) has initiated the mobilization of its drill rig, a standard operational step following the completion of its maiden 2025 exploration program and the receipt of Bureau of Land Management approvals in late 2025. The company also granted stock options as part of a standard compensation mechanism designed to retain key personnel and consultants.
The announcement confirms the execution of the previously announced exploration plan but discloses no new geological data, financial results, or strategic pivots. Consequently, the update does not alter the company's valuation, risk profile, or near-term catalysts.
Lahontan Gold Corp. is a Nevada-focused mine development company advancing a portfolio of four gold and silver projects in the Walker Lane region. Its flagship asset is the Santa Fe Mine, a 28.3 km² past-producing open-pit, heap-leach gold and silver operation that yielded 359,202 oz Au and 702,067 oz Ag between 1988 and 1995.
The company’s current Mineral Resource Estimate, effective Aug 13, 2026, includes 1,195,000 oz AuEq Indicated and 1,190,000 oz AuEq Inferred. This MRE reflects a 22% increase over the 2024 estimate, driven by new drilling at the Santa Fe and Slab/Calvada/York (SCY) deposits.
Lahontan Gold is pursuing a brownfields restart strategy targeting 2027 production. The company is evaluating historic heap leach pads for residual gold and silver reprocessing and is advancing a two-step leaching process, consisting of oxide conventional leach followed by sulfide processing. Additionally, the company’s satellite West Santa Fe project, located 13 km from Santa Fe, saw maiden 2025 drilling confirm high-grade, shallow oxide mineralization amenable to heap leaching.
