Kodiak Intersects Near-Surface High-Grade Copper and Gold at Ketchan: 0.70% CuEq over 283.5 Metres, Including 1.02% CuEq over 108 Metres

Kodiak reports best-ever Ketchan drill intercept of 283.5m at 0.70% CuEq near surface.

Executive Summary

Kodiak Copper Corp. has released the initial drill results from its 2026 program at the Ketchan deposit, part of its 100%-owned MPD copper-gold porphyry project in British Columbia. The release covers eight holes totaling 1,665 metres.

The headline result comes from drill hole AG-26-019, which returned 283.5 metres from 37.5 metres downhole grading 0.56% Cu, 0.15 g/t Au and 2.02 g/t Ag, or 0.70% CuEq. A higher-grade sub-interval within that hole, spanning 108 metres from 85.5 metres, returned 0.83% Cu, 0.20 g/t Au and 3.20 g/t Ag, or 1.02% CuEq.

Other reported intervals include:

  • AG-26-009: 204.5 m at 0.20% Cu, 0.06 g/t Au and 0.87 g/t Ag, or 0.25% CuEq, including 67.1 m at 0.41% Cu, 0.07 g/t Au and 1.77 g/t Ag, or 0.47% CuEq.
  • AG-26-006: 78.6 m at 0.21% CuEq.
  • AG-26-005: 60.6 m at 0.22% CuEq.
  • AG-26-003: 30.4 m at 0.58% CuEq.
  • AG-26-004: 8.1 m at 0.69% CuEq.

Holes AG-26-001 and AG-26-002 returned no significant assays.

The company describes AG-26-019 as the best intersection ever reported at Ketchan, noting potassic alteration and a hydrothermal breccia zone from 85.5 metres to 193.5 metres. Drilling is targeting gaps and potential extensions inside and adjacent to the existing Mineral Resource Estimate. Total 2026 drilling to date stands at 9,067 metres in 46 holes across the Ketchan, West and South deposits, against a 16,500-metre plan. More Ketchan results are expected within weeks, including holes testing a potential southern extension. An updated Mineral Resource Estimate is planned for Q1 2027.

Material Impact

Kodiak Copper Corp. (KDK) has reported the best results ever recorded at its Ketchan deposit, marking the first drill program at the site. While the company is a pre-revenue junior explorer with a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) already in place, this release does not represent a discovery hole in a completely undrilled target. The findings reveal a high-grade near-surface porphyry core, providing new information that may support resource growth and grade improvement in the Q1 2027 MRE update.

The stock has round-tripped from a 52-week high of C$1.24 in January 2026 down to C$0.62 in July 2026 and has only partially recovered to C$0.77. The market is not currently pricing in a high-grade Ketchan core. A near-surface intercept of 0.70% CuEq over 283.5 m, including 1.02% CuEq over 108 m, is the kind of result that can re-rate a C$84 million junior explorer, even if it is only one hole.

The release is not a world-class or district-opening result, and true width is unknown. However, it is materially better than the existing Ketchan resource grade and provides a concrete, high-quality target for follow-up drilling and resource expansion.

Company Overview

Kodiak Copper Corp. is a Canadian junior explorer focused on the 100%-owned MPD copper-gold porphyry project in the Quesnel Terrane of southern British Columbia. The property covers approximately 357 square kilometres and hosts seven deposits: West, Adit, South, Gate, Ketchan, Man and Dillard.

The maiden NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate, effective December 9, 2025, outlined 82.9 Mt Indicated at 0.28% Cu and 0.15 g/t Au, and 356.3 Mt Inferred at 0.24% Cu and 0.11 g/t Au, using a 0.2% CuEq cutoff.

Metallurgical testwork has shown rougher recoveries up to 91.1% Cu, 81.4% Au and 80.4% Ag at a coarser grind. Locked-cycle testing returned 78.7% Cu, 60% Au and 49.3% Ag cleaner concentrate recoveries. The company also holds the Mohave copper-molybdenum-silver project in Arizona and is advancing a proposed spinout of that asset with Teck Resources and Kay Copper.

As of June 30, 2026, Kodiak had cash of C$20.6 million, no long-term debt, and approximately 111.9 million shares outstanding. The company is pre-revenue and funds exploration through equity financings, including a C$15 million private placement completed in June 2026.
