Kodiak Provides Exploration Update and Identifies Large Geophysical Target Adjacent to the South Deposit
Kodiak identifies new geophysical targets at the MPD project ahead of its Q1 2027 resource update.

Kodiak Copper Corp. has provided an update on its fully funded 2026 exploration program at the MPD copper-gold porphyry project in British Columbia. A Volterra 3D Induced Polarization (IP) survey identified a large, untested chargeability anomaly extending over 900 meters adjacent to the east of the South deposit. This anomaly is interpreted as a fault-displaced extension of the South deposit porphyry system, separated by a magnetic low feature.
Drilling progress stands at 6,348 meters in 32 core holes against a total planned program of 16,500 meters. Two diamond drill rigs are currently active. Initial assay results from the 2026 drilling are expected within a month, with further results scheduled for autumn and winter. An updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) is planned for Q1 2027 to reflect resource expansion from the ongoing drilling and new targets.
Kodiak Copper Corp. (KDK) released a routine positive update that aligns with its previously announced 2026 exploration plan and the June 2026 $15 million financing. The company identified a new geophysical target, an expected outcome of the planned 3D-IP survey, which does not constitute a drill result or resource expansion. No assay data is provided, meaning there is no immediate material impact on the company's valuation or resource base. The update confirms operational execution and capital deployment efficiency, but the market will remain neutral until actual drill intersections validate the geophysical anomaly.
Kodiak Copper Corp. is a pre-revenue exploration company focused on its 100%-owned MPD copper-gold porphyry project in Southern British Columbia. The MPD project covers a consolidated 357 km² land package and hosts seven identified deposits: West, Adit, South, Gate, Ketchan, Man, and Dillard.
The maiden Mineral Resource Estimate, effective Dec 2025, defines 82.9 Mt Indicated and 356.3 Mt Inferred resources at a 0.2% CuEq cut-off, containing 519 Mlb Cu and 0.39 moz Au (Indicated). Metallurgical testwork in 2026 demonstrated high copper recoveries (91.1%) at a coarser grind size (P80 150 µm), suggesting potential cost savings in future processing.
The company is also advancing a transaction to spin out its Arizona Mohave project into a new US-focused entity, Kay Copper Corp., in partnership with Teck Resources.
