Orosur Mining Announces Anza Activity Accelerating

OMI · Price

Orosur Mining Inc. (OMI) has announced the commencement of drilling at the El Cedro prospect within its Anzá project, marking the start of a new exploration phase. The company’s first hole, CED001, intersected a porphyry intrusion immediately upon drilling, revealing attractive stockwork veining, silicification, and potassic alteration. This initial campaign, which began in late August 2026, is planned to reach a depth of 500 meters over approximately five weeks.

Concurrently, Orosur released new drill results from Pepas West, defining a surficial, heavily oxidized zone of medium-grade mineralization. The company is currently trialing an auger drilling system at this location to efficiently sample shallow, unconsolidated material, as traditional diamond drilling is considered inefficient for the zone's geometry. A diamond rig has been relocated from Pepas to other prospects to facilitate these auger trials.

The new drill results for Pepas West include the following intercepts:

  • Hole PEP106: 19.45m at 1.02 g/t Au, including 2.25m at 3.11 g/t Au and 1.1m at 3.09 g/t Au.
  • Hole PEP107: 7.6m at 0.47 g/t Au.
  • Hole MAP108: 78.95m at 0.38 g/t Au (134.8m to 213.75m).

The mineralization at Pepas West is described as surficial, thin, and broad. Intersections are reported using a lower cut-off of 0.3 g/t Au over 3m, with gold intersections quoted as downhole thicknesses; true thicknesses remain unknown. Samples from PEP-012 and MAP-106 onwards are prepared at Actlabs Medellin and assayed via fire assay with AAS analysis. Gravimetric re-finish is utilized for overlimit assays greater than 5 g/t, and QA/QC protocols include approximately 10% blanks, repeats, or certified reference materials.

Operationally, three rigs are currently active across the Anzá project: one at Pepas, one at APTA, and one at El Cedro. The total project size has increased to approximately 530km² following the submission of new license applications. This area comprises 170km² of granted titles and 360km² under application, including areas within forest reserves and along the Cauca River for strategic access.

Brad George, CEO of Orosur Mining Inc., commented on the company's progress: "The Anza project is now ramping up with three rigs running, one at each of Pepas, APTA and El Cedro and planned to remain for some time. More prospects are also being advanced to the drill stage, demonstrating the extraordinary potential of this licence holding."
