Condor Receives Environmental Permit (DIA) for Drilling at Flagship Pucamayo Project
Peru Junior has secured a drilling permit for the Pucamayo deposit, unlocking half of its flagship project for future exploration activities.

Condor Resources Inc. (CN) has received the Declaración de Impacto Ambiental (DIA) from Peru's Ministry of Energy and Mines for the Pucamayo Sur target area. The approval, which follows a two-year technical review and resolves competing surface land claims, permits the construction of 40 drill pads and allows exploration activities over a five-year term.
The company plans an exploration drill program of up to 6,000 metres at Pucamayo Sur, contingent on receiving the final "Initiation of Activities" permit and completing site preparation. Geological context highlights a 3 km by 2 km area of outcropping high sulphidation lithocap alteration identified by a 2024 drone-supported airborne magnetics survey. Previous drilling at Pucamayo East in 2023 confirmed a high to intermediate sulphidation system with gold, silver, copper, lead, and zinc mineralization.
Condor Resources Inc. (CN) received DIA approval, a necessary regulatory step to unlock the larger half of the Pucamayo property. This approval serves as a procedural milestone toward the planned 6,000-metre drill program rather than representing a new discovery or a change in project economics.
The news is incremental and aligns with the company's stated exploration timeline. While it removes a regulatory hurdle, it does not immediately translate to cash flow or resource definition. Given the company's pre-revenue status and reliance on capital markets, this constitutes a standard exploration update. The market likely anticipated this permitting progress given the historical context of the Pucamayo East results and the company's focus on advancing Pucamayo Sur. The impact is positive but routine, as it merely enables the next phase of exploration rather than delivering a material financial or operational breakthrough.
Condor Resources Inc. (CN) is a pre-revenue junior exploration company focused on gold, silver, and copper projects in Peru. Its flagship asset is the Pucamayo project, an 85 sq km, 100%-owned property that targets high- and intermediate-sulphidation epithermal and porphyry Au-Ag-Cu systems. Drilling conducted at Pucamayo East in 2023 returned significant gold and silver intervals, confirming the presence of a hydro-magmatic center.
The company’s portfolio also includes Cobreorco, a joint venture with Teck Peru targeting Cu-Au porphyry and skarn deposits; Huiñac Punta, a high-grade Ag CRD; Andrea; and Lucero, which was optioned to Element79 and features historical production. Management emphasizes community engagement and technical due diligence, with a Lima-based team managing local permitting and social license.
