Mutual Benefits Agreement with Birch Narrows Dene Nation
Paladin secures a third Indigenous MBA for the PLS project while reporting cost creep and a net loss in its FY26 earnings.

Paladin Canada Inc. signed a Mutual Benefits Agreement (MBA) with the Birch Narrows Dene Nation (BNDN) on August 30, 2026. The agreement covers the full project lifecycle, from development through decommissioning, for the Patterson Lake South (PLS) Project in Saskatchewan. It secures BNDN support and consent, signals regulatory backing to provincial and federal authorities, and establishes engagement mechanisms for permitting.
This marks the third MBA for PLS, following agreements with the Buffalo River Dene Nation and Clearwater River Dene Nation in February 2025. The MBA follows a binding term sheet executed in April 2026.
The release follows the August 25, 2026 FY2026 earnings report, which highlighted a successful Langer Heinrich Mine (LHM) ramp-up, a production and sales beat, and a narrowed net loss, but also flagged cost creep and a net loss of $9.1M.
Paladin Energy Ltd. (PDN) has secured its Mine Business Approval (MBA), a standard regulatory and social license milestone for its advanced Athabasca project. The approval removes a key permitting risk but does not materially change the project's economic profile or timeline.
The stock has already absorbed the FY26 earnings beat, having peaked at $14.12 in April and now consolidating at $11.23. The market is currently pricing in cost creep and waiting for PLS catalysts.
Paladin Energy Ltd. (PDN) operates the Langer Heinrich Mine (LHM) in Namibia, holding a 75% interest in the asset, which is scheduled to transition to full operations in FY2026. The company also holds a 100% interest in the Patterson Lake South (PLS) Project in Saskatchewan, Canada, which is currently in an advanced pre-development stage. Its exploration portfolio includes Canadian tenements such as Michelin, Seahawk, and Typhoon, alongside assets in Queensland and Western Australia.
