Kenorland Minerals and Targa Exploration Commence Phase 2 Drill Program at the Opinaca Project Gold Discovery, Quebec

KLD · Price

Kenorland Minerals Ltd. (KLD) has announced the commencement of the Phase 2 diamond drill program at its Opinaca Project in Quebec, where it holds a 3% NSR royalty. The 2026 summer exploration program, funded by operator Targa Exploration Corp, carries a budget of $3.9 million and targets up to 4,400m of diamond drilling, geological mapping, and prospecting.

The drilling will focus on the Opinaca gold discovery to evaluate lateral continuity and scale, following up on maiden drill results from Q4 2025. Activities are expected to conclude in early September 2026.

The program comprises up to 4,400m of diamond drilling, with potential for additional holes if budget permits, alongside geological mapping and prospecting. The drill program focuses primarily on the Opinaca gold discovery, designed to evaluate the lateral continuity and scale of the mineralised system and assess the broader intrusive complex. Planned drill hole fences at the Opinaca gold discovery are spaced 0.5 - 1km apart.

The initiative follows up on high-grade and widespread gold mineralisation intersected during the maiden drill program completed in Q4 2025. That maiden program discovered a widespread intrusion-hosted gold system over a 4km target area, confirming the bedrock source of the regional gold-in-till anomaly. Mineralisation remains open in multiple directions.

The Opinaca Project is located in the James Bay region of Quebec, approximately 50km south of the all-season Trans-Taiga Road. The consolidated land position totals 85,267 hectares. Kenorland originally staked the property and vended it to Targa in exchange for equity consideration and a 3% NSR royalty. Initial work in 2023 identified gold anomalies via till sampling, leading to expanded staking and subsequent HMC sampling and surveys in 2024.

Cédric Mayer, M.Sc., P.Geo. (OGQ #02385), Senior Project Geologist at Kenorland, has reviewed and approved the scientific and technical information.

"Kenorland will operate the exploration program, with drilling activities expected to conclude in early September."
