Amarc Announces Geophysical Surveys Identifying Major New Sulphide Mineralized Systems Adjacent To The Aurora Porphyry Copper-Gold Discovery

Freeport-funded IP surveys expand the JOY district sulphide footprint, confirming district-scale potential.

Executive Summary

Amarc Resources, through its joint venture partner AuRORA Minerals Ltd., announced results from ongoing Induced Polarization (IP) geophysical surveys at the JOY Copper-Gold District in British Columbia. The surveys indicate that the NWG sulphide system, which hosts the flagship AuRORA deposit, has expanded from 4.5 km² to 7 km² to the east, defined by a greater than 14 mV/V IP chargeability anomaly.

Additionally, a new 4.5 km² sulphide system known as the ROE Target was identified adjacent to the NWG system. This target features prominent gossanous areas and a classic porphyry Cu-Au-Mo geochemical signature. The White Pass sulphide system, which hosts the historical Brenda deposit, also saw an expansion from 3.0 km² to 5.0 km². Management suggests these expanded systems may form a 12 km long "AuRORA Trend" of porphyry gold-copper deposits.

The 2026 exploration program is valued at $20 million and is fully funded by Freeport-McMoRan. Three drill rigs are currently active, with extensive geophysical, geological, and geochemical surveys underway.

Material Impact

Amarc Resources Ltd. (AHR) announced a standard, expected step in its $20 million 2026 exploration program, previously budgeted in May and July 2026. Geophysical surveys serve as a routine precursor to drill testing. While the expansion of sulphide systems to 16.5 km² across three targets is geologically encouraging, it does not yet represent a resource estimate or drill intersection.

The news confirms the district-scale potential but does not alter the company's valuation or near-term cash flow requirements, as exploration is fully funded by Freeport. The market likely priced in this incremental progress. The release is positive but incremental, aligning with prior expectations rather than delivering a surprise catalyst.

Company Overview

Amarc Resources Ltd. is an exploration-stage company focused on copper-gold porphyry systems in British Columbia. Its flagship project is the JOY District, a 630 km² property in the Toodoggone Region that hosts the high-grade, near-surface AuRORA porphyry Cu-Au-Ag deposit. The company also holds additional assets, including the DUKE District, which covers 808 km² in the Babine Porphyry Belt, and the IKE District, comprising 532 km² in the Toodoggone Region. Amarc is currently in the exploration and discovery phase, with no revenue, no production history, and no mineral reserves or resources disclosed.
