Luca Mining drills 184 m of 1.2 g/t Au, 0.4% Cu at CM

Luca’s Largo Norte zone at Campo Morado hosts 184m of polymetallic mineralization with unspecified true width and low grades.

Executive Summary

Luca Mining Corp. (LUCA) has released drill results from both underground and surface operations across multiple unmined zones at its Campo Morado VMS mine in Mexico. The company continues active drilling with two surface rigs and one underground rig, targeting areas within the 2026-2028 mine plan.

The primary underground hole, CMUG-26-50 in the Largo Norte zone, intersected 183.7m (core length) grading 1.18g/t Au, 72.42g/t Ag, 0.39% Cu, 0.45% Pb, and 1.67% Zn from 3.6m. This interval included significant sub-intervals:

  • 18.3m @ 2.64g/t Au, 152.34g/t Ag, 2.52% Zn (starting at 11.9m)
  • 3.0m @ 1.35g/t Au, 427.65g/t Ag, 14.69% Zn
  • 7.9m @ 2.80g/t Au, 89.65g/t Ag, 1.73% Zn

In the Naranjo surface zone, hole CMNJ-26-02 returned 9.6m @ 4.05g/t Au, 241.09g/t Ag, 0.90% Cu, 1.57% Pb, and 2.72% Zn. Underground holes CMUG-26-46 to -49 revealed broad copper-dominant intervals, including 90.6m @ 0.94% Cu.

Shorter, moderate-grade intercepts were also reported from the El Rey and Estrella de Oro zones. El Rey returned 15.4m @ 0.82g/t Au, 59.74g/t Ag, 0.63% Cu, and 2.88% Zn, while Estrella de Oro returned 4.4m @ 1.64g/t Au and 200g/t Ag.

Material Impact

Luca Mining Corp. (LUCA) is a producer rather than an explorer, meaning drill results are generally considered material only if they significantly alter reserves, mine life, or net present value. Recent infill and step-out holes have confirmed known zones and added incremental confidence for near-term mine plans, but they do not transform the deposit.

The company’s stock has been in a severe downtrend, falling from CAD 2.05 in January to CAD 0.81 recently. This decline has been driven by operational disappointments, including metallurgical variability, lower recoveries, and cash burn, alongside a major guidance cut earlier in 2025. The market is currently focused on production execution, cash flow, and the successful implementation of the Campo Morado Expansion study. Consequently, a drill release of this nature is unlikely to move sentiment.

With no true width and weak QA/QC, the market is likely to discount the release. The news is not materially new versus the chart’s revealed low expectations, as the company has been consistently releasing similar polymetallic intercepts for over a year.

Company Overview

Luca Mining Corp. (TSXV: LUCA) is a Canadian-listed junior producer operating two wholly-owned, producing underground mines in Mexico. The company’s Campo Morado mine, located in Guerrero State, is a VMS polymetallic operation producing zinc, copper, gold, silver, and lead. It is currently operating at approximately 1,900 tonnes per day, with a mill expansion study underway to increase throughput and improve gold recovery via cyanidation. The second asset, the Tahuehueto mine in Durango State, is an epithermal gold-silver vein mine that entered commercial production in March 2025 and is milling approximately 1,050 tonnes per day.

As of the first quarter of 2026, Luca Mining reported cash holdings of $36.4 million and debt of only $1.4 million, alongside operating cash flow of $21.6 million. The company has significantly deleveraged and is now self-funding its exploration and sustaining capital expenditures. A major catalyst for the company is the Campo Morado Expansion (CME) technical report, which is due in the second half of 2026. The expansion aims to unlock gold-silver value from pyrite concentrates and increase throughput.
