Hercules Metals Announces the Appointment of Former Arizonan Sonoran Management Team Led by George Ogilvie
Hercules appoints Ogilvie as chief executive officer after he led the development of the C$2 billion Sonoran project in Arizona.

Hercules Metals Corp. announced a sweeping management overhaul, appointing George Ogilvie as President and CEO effective Sept. 1, 2026. The new leadership team includes six additional senior executives from the former Arizona Sonoran Copper Company. Founder Chris Paul will move to the role of Senior Vice President of Exploration to focus exclusively on geology and discovery.
The incoming team brings a track record of leading Arizona Sonoran from a private entity, with an implied equity value of approximately C$125 million in 2021, to a C$2.0 billion acquisition by Hudbay Minerals in 2026, representing a return of more than 1,500%. Nicholas Nikolakakis has been appointed as the incoming CFO, while Nicholas Hayduk will serve as the head of legal and development. Other roles in investor relations and vice president positions have been filled by alumni of that previous transformation.
As part of the transition, 18.65 million incentive stock options were granted to the incoming team. These options are exercisable at $0.59 per share with a five-year term and vest over three years.
Hercules Metals Corp. (BIG) announced the recruitment of an entire executive group that recently delivered a top-tier exit in the copper space, a move signaling that industry veterans view the company’s Leviathan discovery as having similar or greater potential. Chris Paul has moved to full-time exploration, retaining the geological brain behind the discovery, while the new CEO and CFO bring capital markets and operational scale-up expertise.
The option strike price is set at $0.59, which is at-the-money versus the July 29 close, aligning management incentives with shareholders. This marks the first management-team change since the discovery, with the caliber of the hires exceeding what junior explorers typically attract.
Hercules Metals Corp. is a junior explorer focused on the 100%-owned Hercules property in western Idaho, USA. The company’s flagship discovery is the Leviathan porphyry copper system, a blind discovery made in 2023 that hosts mineralization including copper, molybdenum, and silver. The system has been traced over more than 1 km of strike length and up to 750 m in width, with strong grades such as 113 m of 1.38% Cu in hole HER-25-15.
In 2026, a new porphyry center was discovered at the Southern Flats zone, and multiple additional targets, including Hook and Pegasus, are currently being drilled. The project benefits from deeded surface mining rights on a portion of the property, year-round drilling access, and a large land package of more than 100,000 acres consolidated through a lease option from Barrick. No resource estimate has been completed yet; drilling to date totals approximately 30,000 m.
