Torr Metals Intersects Extensive Hydrothermal Brecciation and Multi-Stage Veining at Bertha North, Advancing Cu-Au Porphyry Model
Visual geology confirms a porphyry-style feeder zone at Bertha North, though assays remain pending and no new material value has been established.

Torr Metals Inc. (TMET) released a geological update on July 22, 2026, detailing results from the first hole of the Phase II drill program at the Bertha North target of its Kolos Project in British Columbia. The initial hole, 26-KO-01, was drilled to a depth of approximately 563 meters and intersected a 142-meter interval of quartz-carbonate veining, crackle to hydrothermal brecciation, and intensifying sericitic alteration within favorable volcanic rocks cross-cut by felsic intrusions. Chalcopyrite and chalcocite were observed locally in fresh exposures, which the company interprets as the “main plumbing” of a porphyry copper-gold system.
No assays are reported as results are pending. The company plans to drill hole 26-KO-02 to test the geometry of the feeder zone and the adjacent chargeability anomaly.
Torr Metals Inc. (TMET) released a progress update that contained no new assay data. The company’s pre-release stock price had collapsed to C$0.10, near its 52-week low of C$0.09, reflecting market frustration with the lack of grade from earlier programs, which returned sub-economic native copper with trivial gold.
Confirmatory geology from a first hole at a new target does not alter the fundamental risk that the porphyry may lack sufficient grade. As a pre-resource explorer, Torr’s value hinges entirely on discovery grades. The market already anticipated drilling at Bertha North, so this progress update is incremental and contains no surprise.
Torr Metals Inc. (TMET) is a junior explorer that owns the 332 km² Kolos Copper-Gold Project in the Quesnel Trough near Kamloops, BC, and the 202 km² Filion Gold Project in Ontario. The Kolos property hosts several untested porphyry targets, including Bertha, Bertha North, Sonic, and Lodi-Kirby. Phase I drilling at Bertha totaled 2,733 m and identified a native copper system but delivered no economic grades. Phase II drilling, targeting up to 6,000 m, is focused on the Bertha North porphyry source.
The company also holds early-stage gold targets at Filion, where high-grade grab samples have returned up to 13.1 g/t Au, though no drilling has been conducted. The presentation notes a market cap of C$11.3M at C$0.125 in June 2026; at C$0.10, this implies a reduced market cap of approximately C$8.4M. The management team includes experienced geologists, and the project is road-accessible with infrastructure nearby.
