AbraSilver Files Definitive Feasibility Study Technical Report & Provides Heap Leach PEA Update
AbraSilver’s DFS confirms a $3 billion NPV, with heap leach potential preserving future optionality for the project.

AbraSilver Resource Corp. (ABRA) has filed the NI 43-101 compliant Technical Report for the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) of its 100%-owned Diablillos project in Argentina. The DFS outlines a conventional open-pit, 9,000 tpd tank-leach operation with an after-tax NPV5% of US$3.0 billion and an after-tax IRR of 41.9% at base-case metal prices ($50/oz Ag, $3,650/oz Au).
The company also provided an update on the Heap Leach Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA), noting that metallurgical testwork on lower-grade mineralization exceeded expectations. An updated Mineral Resource Estimate will be incorporated into the heap leach PEA, which is now expected to be completed in Q4 2026. The filing confirms no material differences from the DFS results previously disclosed on June 22, 2026.
AbraSilver Resource Corp. (ABRA) issued a regulatory filing on July 21, serving as a follow-up to the Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) released on June 22, 2026. The filing provides a routine update on the heap leach Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) timeline but does not introduce new financials or alter the base-case mine plan. The financial parameters remain identical to those previously disclosed, featuring a $3.0 billion net present value (NPV) and a 41.9% internal rate of return (IRR).
Management had previously highlighted the potential for upside beyond the DFS, making the heap leach metallurgical success an expected development. However, the delay of the final PEA to the fourth quarter of 2026 pushes the associated catalyst further out. The news serves as a confirmation of prior milestones rather than a new market-moving event, maintaining project momentum without introducing the surprise element typically required for significant market reaction.
AbraSilver Resource Corp. (ABRA) is an advanced-stage exploration and development company focused on the Diablillos silver-gold project in the Puna region of Argentina, which straddles Salta and Catamarca provinces. Diablillos is a conventional open-pit, tank-leach operation featuring a 9,000 tpd processing facility. The project boasts a 25-year life of mine, a low LOM AISC of approximately $20/oz AgEq, and significant heap leach expansion potential.
The company also holds a joint venture option with Teck Resources on the La Coipita copper-gold-molybdenum project in San Juan Province, which has seen strong recent drilling results. Additionally, the project has secured RIGI approval (Large Investment Incentive Regime), providing long-term fiscal stability, a reduced corporate tax rate of 25%, and 0% export duties.
