Bjorkdal - Near Mine Exploration Update
Alkane’s Björkdal project recorded high-grade gold intersections that extended to depth, although narrow widths limit the materiality of the results.

Alkane Resources Limited (ALK) has reported results from 29 diamond drill holes totaling 15,568 meters, targeting the Eastern and Northern extensions at the Björkdal Gold Mine in Sweden. The drilling follows up on prior work and highlights high-grade gold intercepts within sub-vertical quartz veins.
The release notes a record-deep mineralized intersection at 762 meters below surface and states that the results support confidence in increasing production and extending mine life. Key intercepts (ETW) include 86.1 g/t Au over 0.80 m, 81.3 g/t Au over 2.20 m, and 3.5 g/t Au over 2.45 m at the deepest hole.
Alkane Resources Limited (ALK), a three-mine producer with a market capitalization of approximately A$1.38 billion, is conducting near-mine extension drilling at Björkdal. The company reported bonanza-grade intercepts, though the widths are mostly less than 1 meter true. Due to these narrow widths and a lack of volume indications, the results are unlikely to meaningfully change the reserve base or mine plan in the near term.
The drilling also confirmed record depth, but the grade at that depth is described as mediocre. The stock chart shows a downtrend from $1.83 in April 2026 to $1.34, with the release landing into a weak tape. Such incremental results rarely reverse momentum.
Alkane Resources Limited (ALK) is an Australian-based gold producer operating three mines: Tomingley in New South Wales, Costerfield in Victoria, and Björkdal in Sweden. The company also holds the Boda-Kaiser porphyry Au-Cu development project. Alkane was formed through its merger with Mandalay Resources in August 2025.
For fiscal year 2026, the company has issued production guidance of 160,000 to 175,000 ounces of gold equivalent (AuEq) at an all-in sustaining cost (AISC) of A$2,600 to A$2,900 per ounce. As of June 2026, Alkane held $454 million in cash and bullion.
