Andina's 2026 Cobrasco exploration seeks copper deposit

ANDC · Price

Executive Summary

  • Andina Copper Corp. provided a material update on its ongoing exploration program at the Cobrasco copper project in Colombia, highlighting the commencement of a comprehensive 2026 campaign to delineate major copper deposits.
  • The company has completed over 2,000 metres of diamond drilling across three holes at the Cobrasco Central target, with assay results expected shortly.
  • Surface exploration activities, including stream sediment/rock chip sampling, drone-based lidar and photogrammetry surveys, and planned geophysical programs, are actively underway to expand the project's exploration footprint.

Key Details

  • Drilling Completion & Intercepts (Cobrasco Central): Over 2,000 metres of diamond drilling completed across three holes:
  • CDH001: 808 m @ 0.42% Cu, 79 ppm Mo (184–992 m)
  • CDH002: 754 m @ 0.46% Cu, 76 ppm Mo (152–906 m)
  • CDH003: 144.6 m @ 0.69% Cu, 155 ppm Mo, 1.4 g/t Ag (156–300.6 m, end of hole)
  • Porphyry Mineralization: Wide intervals of porphyry-style copper-molybdenum mineralization logged across all drilled holes.
  • Historical & Continuation Drilling:
  • Andina completed the continuation of CDH003 to a final depth of 774.80 m; assays pending.
  • Two additional holes previously drilled by Rugby Resources reached 1,046.40 m and 941.60 m, intersecting significant Cu-Mo mineralization.
  • Surface Sampling (Cobrasco East):
  • 54 stream sediment samples and 10 in-situ rock chip samples collected.
  • Elevated copper values up to 245 ppm Cu and 1.11 ppm Mo identified in slump/colluvial rocks and contact zones between mafic intrusives and felsic tonalites.
  • Float samples reported up to 0.71% Cu, interpreted as related to younger batholith phases and associated porphyry complexes.
  • Geophysical & Survey Programs:
  • High-definition drone orthophotogrammetry and lidar survey in progress over the 1,500-hectare northern Cobrasco block; southern block lidar to follow.
  • Airborne magnetotellurics (AirMT/MobileMT) and ground-induced polarization surveys planned across the entire IHS-08005X exploration concession.
  • 2026 Program Scope: Comprehensive exploration initiative underway to delineate major copper deposit(s) on the property.
