Almonty Industries Set to Join Large-Cap Russell 1000(TM) Index and Broad-Market Russell 3000(TM) Index

Almonty Industries Inc. (AII) has been included in an index, marking its transition from a niche tungsten miner to a cornerstone of U.S. defense supply.

Executive Summary

Almonty Industries Inc. (AII) will join the Large-Cap Russell 1000® Index and the broad-market Russell 3000® Index, effective June 29, 2026, following the annual reconstitution. The company attributes its qualification to the commissioning of its Sangdong mine, the relocation of its headquarters to the United States, and what it describes as a “fortress” balance sheet. Management expects the inclusion to expand visibility among institutional investors and broaden the shareholder base.

Material Impact

Inclusion in the Russell 1000 validates Almonty Industries Inc.’s transition from a pre-revenue tungsten developer to a large-capitalization, strategically vital U.S. defense supplier. The addition typically triggers automatic buying by passive funds and ETFs benchmarked to the index, creating steady demand and reducing the long-term cost of capital.

The announcement did not include new operational data, but it confirms growth that has already been priced in over the past year. The stock has risen more than 600% from its $4.50 Nasdaq IPO price in July 2025. The absence of any concurrent negative disclosure, such as an equity raise, a production cut, or a destructive litigation outcome, reinforces that the inclusion is a reward for solid execution.

Company Overview

Almonty Industries Inc. (AII) is a tungsten producer transitioning from a European and Asian operator into a U.S.-headquartered critical-minerals champion. Its flagship asset is the Sangdong tungsten mine in South Korea, one of the world’s largest undeveloped tungsten deposits, which completed Phase-I commissioning in March 2026. The mine is expected to produce approximately 2,300 tonnes per year of concentrate initially, rising to approximately 4,600 tonnes per year after Phase-II, supplying approximately 40% of non-China global demand.

The company also operates the Panasqueira mine in Portugal, which generated revenue during the construction phase, and acquired the Gentung Browns Lake tungsten project in Montana in 2025, targeting first U.S. production in the second half of 2026. A molybdenum deposit adjacent to Sangdong and a planned tungsten oxide plant complete the "Korean Trinity" value chain.
