SAGA Metals Positions Wolverine Heavy REE Project Alongside Strange Lake and Tanbreez in Geological Peer Comparison
Saga’s Labrador rare earth project demonstrates geological upside relative to peers while pending assay results are awaited.

Saga Metals Corp. released a geological comparison of its 100%-owned Wolverine Heavy Rare Earth Element (REE) Project in Labrador against two advanced peer projects: Strange Lake, operated by Torngat Metals, and Tanbreez, operated by Critical Metals Corp. The release emphasizes that while Wolverine is hosted in peralkaline volcanic ash-flow tuff, unlike the intrusive hosts of its peers, it shares similar enrichment in heavy rare earths (HREE), zirconium, and niobium.
Wolverine remains in the exploration stage with no defined mineral resource. The company notes that assays from its 2026 diamond drill program, which consisted of 22 holes totaling 3,241 meters, are pending and will support a future resource estimation. The company targets a maiden NI 43-101 resource estimate for Wolverine in 2027.
This release follows the October 21, 2026 announcement confirming the completion of the same 22-hole diamond drill program, which intersected prospective REE-bearing alteration in all holes.
Saga Metals Corp. (SAGA) released additional geological framing and peer benchmarking for its Wolverine project, providing context for the site’s exploration target without introducing new assay data, metallurgical results, or financing terms. The company completed drilling at the project, a milestone initially communicated in an October 21 release. The subsequent October 29 update serves to contextualize the exploration target rather than mark a material operational or financial milestone.
The market has already priced in the drilling completion and the strategic positioning of Wolverine alongside known heavy rare earth element (HREE) systems. With the absence of assay results, the fundamental catalyst of resource definition remains deferred to 2027. The release aligns with previous management guidance and exploration timelines, showing no improvements or misses relative to prior expectations.
Saga Metals Corp. is a critical minerals exploration company focused on Tier-1 jurisdiction assets in Labrador and Quebec, Canada. Its flagship Radar Titanium-Vanadium-Iron Project hosts a 29 km² central oxide corridor encompassing the Trapper, Falcon, and Hawkeye Zones. The company completed 85 holes (22,432 meters) for its maiden Mineral Resource Estimate program, achieving a 100% mineralization hit rate. High-grade intercepts include intervals exceeding 50% Fe₂O₃, 8% TiO₂, and 0.4% V₂O₅.
The company’s second flagship asset is the Wolverine Heavy Rare Earth Element Project, a 294.5 km² peralkaline volcanic system targeting Dysprosium, Terbium, and Yttrium. Saga Metals completed its maiden diamond drill program at Wolverine, consisting of 22 holes totaling 3,241 meters, in 2026. Assays from this program are pending.
Additional assets include the Double Mer Uranium Project, covering 25,600 hectares and described as drill-ready, as well as the Legacy Lithium Project and Garneau Titanium Project in Quebec. The company is advancing toward maiden resource estimates for both the Radar and Wolverine projects, with metallurgical testwork underway to support future economic studies.
