Ophir Mobilizes Crews for Surface Exploration at the Breccia Gold Project in Idaho
Ophir restarts exploration at its Idaho gold project, marking a strategic pivot back to precious metals development.

Ophir Metals Corp. announced the mobilization and restart of exploration activities at its Breccia Gold Property in Idaho on October 26, 2026. The company is shifting its strategic focus from previous lithium and cesium pursuits back to gold and silver exploration.
The current work program targets the extension of the Breccia Gold Zone discovered in 2021 and investigates a new mineralized breccia outcrop located approximately 800 meters north-northwest of the central zone. Historical surface sampling highlights include high-grade intercepts: * 84.3 g/t Au and 31.3 g/t Ag on the Meadows Fault Trend * 57.6 g/t Au and 19.6 g/t Ag on the East Breccia Zone * 25.2 g/t Au on the newly discovered outcrop
CSAMT and magnetic geophysical surveys define a continuous structural corridor to the northwest, consistent with known mineralized trends and open for expansion along strike and at depth. This release serves as an operational follow-up to the January 5, 2026 announcement, where the company completed its property review and outlined plans for a 2026 exploration program.
Ophir Metals Corp. (OPHR) has resumed exploration activities, a move that aligns with the company’s January 2026 update and represents an expected execution step rather than a new catalyst. The company disclosed no new financial data, drill results, or capital raises. Current surface sampling and geophysical data remain preliminary and require drilling to validate subsurface and grade continuity.
The strategic pivot back to precious metals follows gold’s historic rise and reflects management’s stated priority, but it does not immediately alter the company’s pre-revenue status or cash burn trajectory. Additionally, an August 2026 option agreement for the BlackFyre copper-nickel-cobalt project adds portfolio diversification. This agreement remains in the non-binding LOI stage, subject to due diligence and TSX-V approval, and does not offset the immediate focus on the Breccia project.
Ophir Metals Corp. (OPHR) is a pre-revenue mineral exploration company managing a multi-commodity portfolio. Its flagship asset is the Breccia Gold Project, a 1,043-acre property located in Idaho’s Blackbird Mining District. The site features historical production from the Gahsmith Mine and has yielded high-grade surface sampling results. Geophysical data indicates a structurally controlled low-sulphidation epithermal system.
The company also holds secondary projects in Quebec. The Pilipas Project focuses on lithium and cesium pegmatites, while the BlackFyre Project targets magmatic copper-nickel-cobalt sulphides. All of Ophir Metals’ projects are in the early exploration stage, and no mineral resources or reserves have been declared.
