Cosa Announces Partner-Funded Drilling Results from the Aurora Uranium Project, Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan
Cosa’s drill results missed mineralization but validated geophysics for its 2027 program at the Aurora project.

Cosa Resources Corp. announced initial drilling results from its Aurora uranium project in the Athabasca Basin, Saskatchewan. The program, fully funded by Traction Uranium Corp. under a February 2026 earn-in agreement, completed two holes totaling 541 meters.
Both holes intersected interpreted metasedimentary basement, including graphitic units with brittle faulting and increased graphite content. Hole AU26-01 also intersected granitic gneiss interpreted to overlie the metasedimentary unit, a structural contrast often associated with uranium deposits in the eastern Athabasca. Neither hole intersected sandstone as they were located outside the rim of the Athabasca Basin. No significant hydrothermal alteration or uranium mineralization was intersected. Geochemical results are pending.
The discovery of faulted graphitic basement validates the project's prospectivity and supports the use of modern geophysical techniques for target generation. Follow-up work will likely include advanced target generation and an expanded drill program in 2027.
Cosa Resources Corp. (COSA) released a standard exploration update that did not yield a discovery. The results showed an absence of uranium mineralization or significant hydrothermal alteration, falling short of market expectations for early-stage drill results. This outcome is consistent with the high-risk nature of basement-hosted uranium exploration.
The program validated geophysical targets and confirmed structural geology, providing a foundation for future work. However, this does not immediately de-risk the project or generate near-term value.
The program is 100% partner-funded by Traction Uranium Corp., which mitigates immediate capital dilution for Cosa. This arrangement means the upside is shared with a partner that can earn up to an 80% interest.
Cosa Resources Corp. is a uranium-focused junior explorer operating in Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin. The company transitioned to a uranium-only strategy following its 2022 IPO and previously held copper assets.
Flagship projects include the Murphy Lake North and Darby joint ventures with Denison Mines Corp., located in highly prospective areas near IsoEnergy's Hurricane deposit and Cameco's Cigar Lake mine. The Aurora project is optioned to Traction Uranium Corp., and the Astro project is optioned to Global Uranium Corp.
The company holds over 190,000 hectares across multiple underexplored properties in the basin. All projects are in the exploration stage with no operating history, no revenue, and no mineral resources or reserves defined.
