SSR Mining Announces 20-Year Life of Mine Plan for Marigold Based on Expanded 4.6 Million Ounce Mineral Reserve
SSR’s Marigold reserve expansion secures mine life to 2050 despite near-term AISC creep and grade declines.

SSR Mining Inc. released the 2026 Technical Report Summary (TRS) for its Marigold Gold Complex in Nevada. The update includes a maiden life-of-mine plan extending operations through 2050, driven by the inclusion of the Buffalo Valley project.
Gold Mineral Reserves increased 43% to 4.63 million ounces (3.52 moz Marigold + 0.67 moz Buffalo Valley). Life-of-mine economics show an after-tax NPV5% of $3.3 billion at $3,948/oz gold, with an average AISC of $2,062/oz. Average annual production is projected at 231,000 ounces from 2027–2031, with active mining through 2040.
The update was telegraphed in prior guidance as a year-end 2026 deliverable and does not alter near-term financial results or 2026 production/cost guidance.
SSR Mining Inc. (SSRM) released a strategic milestone that extends its mine life to 2050 and adds 4.63 moz of reserves. This development de-risks long-term cash flow, though it is not considered a financial inflection point. The market has already priced in the reserve expansion, with the stock consolidating between $47.50 and $50.64 following its August peak, indicating the news is viewed as expected rather than transformative. There is no change to 2026 financials, production, or cost guidance. The material impact is limited to NAV accretion and reduced long-term reserve replacement risk.
SSR Mining Inc. is headquartered in Denver, Colorado, and ranks as the third-largest gold producer in the United States. Its core producing assets include the Marigold mine in Nevada, the Cripple Creek & Victor operations in Colorado, the Seabee mine in Saskatchewan, and the Puna project in Jujuy, Argentina. The company has completed its strategic pivot to the Americas following the divestiture of the Çöpler mine in Türkiye and the sale of the Hod Maden equity stake. This portfolio is heavily weighted to North American jurisdictions, reducing geopolitical risk and aligning with a free-cash-flow-focused strategy.
