Canaf Reports Financial Results for Q3 2026
Canaf Investments reported sequential sales beats and strategic reductant acquisition offset by margin compression in its core coal business.

Canaf Investments Inc. reported unaudited financial results for the nine months ended July 31, 2026. Revenue declined to CAN$17.65 million from CAN$20.79 million in the prior-year period, while net income attributable to shareholders fell to CAN$1.25 million from CAN$1.82 million. Gross margin compressed to 12.5% from 14.4% in the prior-year period, attributed to lower sales volumes and reduced margins at Southern Coal.
In the third quarter, revenue increased sequentially to CAN$6.03 million from CAN$5.40 million in Q2, representing an 11.7% quarter-over-quarter increase. Management expects sales volumes to increase further in Q4 2026.
The company’s book value per share reached a record CAN$0.352, up 13% over the nine-month period and 40% since October 31, 2024. The cash position strengthened to CAN$10.46 million with working capital of CAN$13.97 million. Segment performance highlights include a 34% increase in Canaf Estate Holdings rental income, CAN$244,796 in Canaf Capital investment income, and Urbanhold commencing trading at both initial self-storage locations in Q3.
The company completed the acquisition of 100% of Carbon Reductant Solutions (CRS) on August 31, 2026, for R14.4 million (approx. $1.25 million), funded entirely from existing cash reserves.
Canaf Investments Inc. (CAF) reported a sequential sales beat in the third quarter, accompanied by successful pilot openings that align with management’s prior guidance. The company also completed the acquisition of CRS, a logical bolt-on transaction valued at $1.25 million that expands production capacity and positions the firm to benefit from anticipated South African ferrochrome smelter restarts. The acquisition was funded entirely from existing cash, with no external debt incurred, and is not expected to have a material negative impact on near-term financials.
Despite these developments, the stock has remained in a tight trading range of $0.30 to $0.34, showing no significant price reaction.
Canaf Investments Inc. (CAF) operates as a diversified holding company with interests spanning mining, real estate, financial services, and self-storage. Its mining segment includes Southern Coal, which produces calcined anthracite for steel and ferrochrome smelters, accessed through Quantum Screening. The company’s recent acquisition of CRS adds char production capabilities for ferrochrome smelters, with operations located in the Highveld Industrial Park.
In the real estate sector, Canaf Estate Holdings manages property assets, while Canaf Capital provides financial services. The company also holds an interest in Urbanhold, a joint venture focused on converting underused retail space into self-storage facilities.
