Rio2 Company-Wide Exploration Update

Rio2 Limited (RIO) released a comprehensive exploration update covering its three primary assets: Condestable in Peru, Fenix Gold in Chile, and Kalzas Tungsten in Canada.
At the Condestable project, Phase 1 surface drilling has commenced, comprising 85 holes totaling 16,750m within permitted environmental footprints. Geophysical surveys at the site have identified six priority exploration targets across the district. Phase 2 of the project will require the construction of new access roads and is subject to a six-month permitting timeline.
Operations at the Fenix Gold project were suspended due to adverse weather conditions, worker safety concerns, and contractor standby costs. To date, 14,669m of drilling has been completed. Assay results are expected within two months, with an updated resource estimate targeted for December 2027.
At the Kalzas project, geological mapping and permitting are complete. A $1.5 million scout drilling program is planned for summer 2027, with a future decision regarding a potential spin-out pending the results.
Rio2 Limited (RIO) did not release earnings, so there were no new financial results to assess. Prior-period context includes H1 2026 consolidated revenue of $171.1M and adjusted net income of $28.9M.
The exploration update served as operational housekeeping, confirming permitting progress at Condestable while highlighting weather-related delays at Fenix. The market has already priced in the Condestable EIA approval and the Fenix weather delays. The stock is trading in a consolidation range, and this update does not introduce new material catalysts or misses.
Rio2 Limited operates the Fenix Gold project in Chile and the Condestable Copper project in Peru. The company acquired Condestable in January 2026 for approximately $217 million, a move that transitions Rio2 from a gold developer into a diversified Latin American producer.
Fenix is a heap-leach oxide gold operation targeting a throughput of 20,000 tonnes per day (tpd) in Phase 1 and 80,000 tpd in Phase 2. Condestable is an underground copper mine that produces significant gold and silver by-products and is currently processing 8,400 tpd.
