Cassiar Gold Corp. Announces Exploration Agreement with Dease River First Nation
Cassiar secured a First Nation agreement to advance drilling at its British Columbia gold project, marking a key step in the exploration program.

Cassiar Gold Corp. has signed an Exploration Agreement with the Dease River First Nation to formalize a collaborative framework for mineral exploration and development on the Cassiar Gold Project in northern British Columbia. The agreement includes commitments to respect Indigenous rights, provide employment and business opportunities for First Nation members, and collaborate on environmental stewardship. As consideration, Cassiar Gold will issue 500,000 units to the Dease River First Nation, subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval. Each unit consists of one common share and one non-transferable warrant exercisable at $0.65 per share for 12 months. Unit shares and warrants carry a four-month-and-one-day hold period and contractual trading restrictions.
This development follows the September 17, 2026 update confirming 7,400 meters drilled across 31 holes at Cassiar North, with a planned 10,000-meter campaign for the year. The company also secured a Multi-Year Area-Based (MYAB) Mines Act Permit extension through March 31, 2031, authorizing surface drilling, trail construction, helipads, and geophysical surveys. The Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) led by Ausenco remains on track for H2 2026 delivery.
Cassiar Gold Corp. (GLDC) has entered into a standard agreement, a routine step for junior explorers in British Columbia, particularly for district-scale projects requiring long-term social license. The company issued 500,000 units, representing minimal dilution of approximately 0.3% of the ~161.5M share count, priced at a slight premium to recent trading levels.
While the deal does not immediately alter the resource base, economics, or near-term cash flow, it de-risks the permitting pathway and aligns community interests with project advancement. The market likely priced in the necessity of Indigenous engagement given the project's location and scale, treating the announcement as incremental and procedural rather than transformative.
Cassiar Gold Corp. (GLDC) holds a 100% interest in the 590 km² Cassiar Gold Property, located in the Liard Mining Division of British Columbia. The company’s flagship asset is the Taurus Deposit at Cassiar North, which carries an NI 43-101 resource estimate of 8.8 Mt Indicated at 1.43 g/t Au (410 koz) and 63.2 Mt Inferred at 0.95 g/t Au (1.93 moz). Ninety-one percent of the ounces are located within 150 meters of the surface.
The property also includes the Cassiar South area, which contains historical underground mines that produced over 315,000 oz of gold at average head grades of 10–20 g/t Au. Infrastructure on the site includes paved Provincial Highway 37 for year-round access, a permitted 300 tpd Erickson Mill, a 48-person camp, and 25 km of historical underground workings. The project is currently in the exploration and early development stage, with a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) targeted for the second half of 2026.
