Talon Metals Reports Assays from Record 46.43-Meter Vault Zone Intercept at Tamarack
Talon’s 46m of 13% nickel and 17% copper confirms a step-out at the Vault deposit.

Talon Metals Corp. (TLO) has released assay results for drill hole 25TK0562A at its Tamarack Nickel-Copper-Cobalt Project in Minnesota. The company had previously announced the 46.43-meter intercept on August 6, 2026, with assays pending at that time; this release provides the specific grade data.
The hole returned a 46.43 m interval of Massive Sulphide Unit and Mixed Massive Sulphide from 752.97 m grading 13.37% Ni, 16.54% Cu, 0.10% Co, 7.85 g/t Pd, 14.49 g/t Pt, 8.56 g/t Au and 31.51 g/t Ag, or 27.39% NiEq / 54.78% CuEq.
- A high-grade sub-interval of 26.22 m from 758.00 m returned 14.95% Ni, 17.85% Cu, 0.11% Co, 8.53 g/t Pd, 16.79 g/t Pt, 9.13 g/t Au and 22.55 g/t Ag, or 30.20% NiEq / 60.41% CuEq.
- Below the main interval, 4.60 m of disseminated chalcocite in footwall metasediments returned 0.38% Ni, 1.26% Cu, 1.87 g/t Pd, 8.90 g/t Pt and 3.62 g/t Au.
- The broader 51.03 m composite from 752.97 m to 804.00 m graded 12.20% Ni, 15.16% Cu, 0.10% Co, 7.31 g/t Pd, 13.99 g/t Pt and 8.11 g/t Au.
The hole is located approximately 50 meters southwest of the Vault Zone discovery hole 25TK0563 and tested a borehole electromagnetic anomaly from hole 25TK0566A.
Talon Metals Corp. (TLO) has transitioned from a pure grassroots explorer to a producing entity following its acquisition of Eagle Mine and Humboldt Mill in January 2026, bringing its market capitalization to approximately C$1.35 billion. The company’s Tamarack project already hosts significant indicated and inferred nickel-copper mineralization, with the Vault Zone discoveries situated below the resource area serving as the primary exploration catalyst.
The market was already aware of the 46.43-meter intercept length reported in the August 6, 2026 release. Consequently, the stock had already re-rated strongly, rising from the C$5.00–6.00 range in late July and August to the C$8.00–8.40 range by September. This latest release confirms the assay grades, which are excellent and broadly consistent with nearby Vault Zone holes, providing confirmation rather than a wholly new surprise.
While the result is better than the embedded anchor in terms of total grade-thickness, it is not considered a negative. It remains genuinely market-relevant as it confirms a major high-grade step-out and expands the potential scale of the Vault Zone.
Talon Metals Corp. (TLO) is a U.S.-focused nickel-copper company that operates the Eagle Mine and Humboldt Mill in Michigan, assets it acquired from Lundin Mining in January 2026. The company also controls a 400,000-acre exploration land package in Michigan and is advancing the Beulah Mineral Processing Facility in North Dakota.
Talon owns 51% of the Tamarack project, a development-stage nickel-copper-cobalt asset in Minnesota, with an earn-in right to reach a 60% stake. The Tamarack resource includes indicated resources of 8,564 kt at 1.73% Ni, 0.92% Cu, and 2.34% NiEq, plus inferred resources of 8,461 kt at 0.83% Ni, 0.55% Cu, and 1.19% NiEq. The Vault Zone, located below the existing Tamarack Resource Area, has emerged as the main exploration growth target.
Eagle Mine reserves total 3,486 kt at 1.06% Ni and 0.82% Cu, with mine life extending into the second half of 2030. Recent financial results for the second quarter of 2026 showed revenue of C$51.5M and net income of C$3.2M. As of June 30, 2026, the company held cash of C$46.6M.
