Nuvau Intersects 138.87 g/t Gold over 4.45 m at Thundermine in Matagami

Nuvau Minerals Inc. (NMC) has released initial assay results from its summer drilling program at the Thundermine target within its Matagami Mining District Property in Québec, Canada. The program intersected exceptionally high-grade quartz-tourmaline veins within a broader intrusive-hosted mineralized system. All 10 summer drillholes intersected the targeted tonalitic intrusive, with assays received for three holes (TH-26-05, TH-26-06, and TH-26-08), while results for the remaining seven holes are pending.
Hole TH-26-08 returned 138.87 g/t Au over 4.45 metres, including a 0.85 metre interval grading 629.15 g/t Au. Additional high-grade intervals within this hole included 0.35 metres grading 236.95 g/t Au. Hole TH-26-05 identified widespread mineralization over 180.4 metres averaging 0.57 g/t Au, containing multiple high-grade intervals. Five individual intervals in this hole graded above 10 g/t Au, including specific intervals of 0.70m @ 24.75 g/t Au, 0.40m @ 31.51 g/t Au, 0.45m @ 37.85 g/t Au, 0.55m @ 12.91 g/t Au, and 0.50m @ 36.20 g/t Au.
Hole TH-26-06 intersected 81.9 metres averaging 0.24 g/t Au, which included 1.50 metres grading 9.29 g/t Au and 0.50 metres grading 10.64 g/t Au. Hole TH-26-04 included 1.15 metres grading 8.95 g/t Au and 1.05 metres grading 11.36 g/t Au.
Geological data from the program defined a steeply dipping tonalitic intrusive interpreted to be approximately 150 metres thick. Mineralization is associated with pervasive sericite-silica alteration and multiple generations of quartz-carbonate-tourmaline veins. Gold assays were completed using PhotonAssay™ technology on a nominal 500 g aliquot at MSALABS in Val-d'Or, Québec. The program includes certified reference materials, blanks, and duplicate samples representing approximately 11% of submitted samples. True widths are unknown, and all reported lengths are measured along the drill core. No specific cutoff grade is disclosed for the reported composites; Table 1 lists intervals >5 g/t Au and Table 2 lists composites >1 g/t Au.
"These initial assay results from Thundermine, together with the geological data accumulated from 10 holes of drilling, are very encouraging and have established this as a highly prospective gold target. These are the first assays from our summer drill program," said Christina McCarthy, Nuvau's Chief Executive Officer.
"The similarities to the quartz-tourmaline gold systems with the large-scale gold deposits in the Sigma-Lamaque district in Val-d'Or provide a compelling geological model to follow, and Thundermine remains open at depth and along strike. With seven holes still pending and only a small part of the larger prospective trend tested, we are just getting started."
