American Tungsten Appoints Former Idaho Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter to Advisory Committee
American Tungsten secures political backing for its Idaho tungsten project ahead of a preliminary economic assessment and tailings facility restart.

American Tungsten Corp. has appointed former Idaho Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter as a Special Advisor to its Advisory Committee. The company stated the appointment aims to leverage Otter's experience in natural resource policy and economic growth to navigate Idaho's regulatory and political landscape.
In addition to the leadership change, the company granted 1,183,500 Restricted Share Units (RSUs) to officers and consultants. These shares are set to vest over 36 months with a four-month hold period.
The release also reiterated the July 15, 2026 Mineral Resource Estimate for the IMA Mine. The estimate highlights 316,000 tonnes of Indicated resources and 2,178,000 tonnes of Inferred resources grading 0.55% WO₃. This data supports a phased development strategy targeting domestic tungsten production.
American Tungsten Corp (TUNG) issued a strategic, non-financial update regarding the appointment of a former governor to an advisory role. This move is a standard corporate governance practice intended to facilitate permitting and community relations in a resource-rich state.
The appointment does not alter the technical, financial, or operational trajectory of the IMA Mine. The market has already priced in the resource definition and the company's transition to a development-stage asset following the August 2026 MRE.
Additionally, RSU grants represent minor, expected dilution tied to management retention and are not indicative of new capital raising or operational shifts. The news is incremental and aligns with the company's stated strategy to advance the IMA Mine toward a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) and potential production.
American Tungsten Corp. is a pre-revenue exploration and development company focused on the IMA Mine in Lemhi County, Idaho. The IMA Mine is a historic underground tungsten producer that generated approximately 199,449 MTUs of WO₃ between 1945 and 1957. The company holds an exclusive option to acquire full ownership, subject to a 2% royalty, and has expanded its land position with 113 additional federal claims totaling approximately 2,000 acres.
The company’s development strategy is phased. Phase I focuses on evaluating and processing historical surface tailings, offering a lower capital requirement and a faster path to production, while Phase II targets the rehabilitation and restart of the historic underground mine. American Tungsten Corp. recently transitioned from the CSE to the TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV) under the ticker "TUNG" in May 2026.
