Aya Gold & Silver to Acquire Copper-Silver Portfolio
Aya secures strategic land near Zgounder, adding exploration optionality without diluting its balance sheet.

Aya Gold & Silver Inc. announced an agreement to acquire a 139 km² copper-silver exploration portfolio in Morocco, which includes a 19 km² mining license located approximately 35 km west of its existing Zgounder Silver Mine. The total consideration for the transaction is C$4.0 million, payable entirely in Aya common shares.
The portfolio contains historical trenching results grading 0.65% Cu and 33 g/t Ag, as well as high-grade surface samples up to 837 g/t Ag and 4.6% Cu. Management has identified multiple mineralization styles within the area, including sediment-hosted and stratiform copper, as well as structurally controlled vein- and shear-hosted Cu-Ag mineralization.
The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals from Moroccan authorities and the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX). Management plans to initiate exploration over the next 12 to 18 months, which will include stream sediments geochemistry, high-resolution hyperspectral studies, and airborne geophysics.
Aya Gold & Silver Inc. (AYA) issued C$4.0 million in shares, representing approximately 0.07% dilution to its C$5.3 billion market capitalization, a move deemed financially immaterial. The acquisition aligns with the company’s stated 2026 strategy of aggressive land consolidation and district-scale exploration around Zgounder.
The transaction has no immediate impact on margins, cash flow, or production guidance, serving purely as an exploration optionality play. The market’s reaction to the strong Q2 results and the previous $1 million August acquisition already priced in this strategic direction. The stock is trading near its 52-week high, indicating the news is routine and expected.
Aya Gold & Silver Inc. operates the Zgounder Silver Mine in Morocco, a high-grade asset with an extended mine life projected through 2036. The company is also developing the Boumadine polymetallic project, which features gold, silver, zinc, lead, and pyrite and has received a positive preliminary economic assessment. Recent acquisitions have expanded the company’s land package in Morocco to over 991 km².
