Canada Nickel Closes Non-Brokered Private Placement for Gross Proceeds of C$21.0 Million
Canada upsizes financing to $21m, extending runway ahead of the 2027 decision on its project.

Canada Nickel Company Inc. closed an upsized non-brokered private placement for gross proceeds of C$21.0 million. The company issued 14,000,000 units at a price of C$1.50 per unit. Proceeds are allocated to permitting, engineering, debt repayment, and working capital.
Avenir Minerals Limited exercised pro rata participation rights, receiving 666,667 units. Each unit includes one common share and one-half of one common share purchase warrant. Warrants are exercisable at C$2.25 per share for a 36-month period. Securities issued to Avenir are subject to a four-month and one-day hold period.
Canada Nickel Company Inc. (CNC) announced a follow-up to its August 12, 2026, disclosure of a C$15 million placement, upsizing the capital raise to C$21 million. The market was already aware of the capital raise, making this an incremental, expected event. The transaction provides additional liquidity but introduces further dilution at the current trading price.
The use of proceeds highlights the company's immediate need to service debt and fund engineering and permitting costs ahead of the targeted 2027 construction decision. The transaction does not alter the fundamental project timeline or valuation thesis. It merely extends the cash runway by a few months, mitigating near-term default risk on the Auramet bridge facility, which has been extended to November 2026. Given the prior disclosure and routine nature of the closing, the market impact is expected to be minimal.
Canada Nickel Company Inc. (CNC) is focused on the development of the Crawford Nickel Sulphide Project in the Timmins Nickel District, Ontario. The project is positioned to become the Western world's largest nickel sulphide operation and North America's only primary source of chromium.
The company has completed a Feasibility Study in 2023 and Front-End Engineering Design in 2025. It targets a Final Investment Decision in 2027, with construction expected to follow. The broader Timmins Nickel District hosts multiple high-grade deposits, including Reid, Midlothian, Deloro, and Nesbitt, totaling over 10 million tonnes of contained nickel in Measured & Indicated resources.
Canada Nickel Company Inc. is pursuing a zero-carbon industrial cluster strategy, leveraging proprietary IPT carbonation, NetCarb partnerships, and in-situ CO2 sequestration pilots.
