Lion Rock Extends Tin and Tantalum Mineralization at Volney as Phase 2 Drill Planning Begins
Lion Rock Resources Inc. (ROAR) has completed a property-wide surface exploration program at its Volney Critical Minerals and Gold Project in South Dakota, identifying visible tin and tantalum mineralization extending approximately 300 meters beyond previously reported zones. The initiative involved the collection of over 100 grab samples, with approximately 60 focused on gold targets and 48 on tin and tantalum targets. These samples have been submitted to SGS, the same laboratory used for Phase 1, to maintain continuity of analytical methods and QA/QC protocols. Results are currently pending and will be utilized to finalize targeting for the upcoming Phase 2 drill program.
The surface program yielded several key visual observations. Coarse tantalite crystals up to approximately 10 centimeters were observed in quartz-mica pegmatite at the Volney Lower Pit, while visible cassiterite was identified at the Rough and Ready occurrence. Additionally, amblygonite-bearing pegmatite was identified as prospective for lithium. All mineral identifications remain visual and are pending assay confirmation.
Updated geological mapping has allowed the company to differentiate pegmatites by commodity, specifically separating those hosting lithium, tin, and tantalum, rather than treating all pegmatites as a single population. This new interpretation has been integrated with Phase 1 drill results into a 3D geological model to prioritize drill targets and define the geometry and scale of individual pegmatite bodies.
Lion Rock Resources plans to advance an aggressive Phase 2 drill program designed to expand on the Phase 1 drill area and test new surface targets identified by the current program. The company also intends to advance metallurgical and processing studies and progress key permitting initiatives, including the State Mine License. Assay results will be reported once received, compiled, and verified, with gold-focused sampling results to be reported separately.
