Altamira Gold Discovers New Mineralized Porphyry Body at Maria Bonita West, Cajueiro Gold District, Brazil

Altamira’s wide low-grade porphyry step-out confirms the western body near cut-off grades.

Executive Summary

Altamira Gold Corp. (ALTA) reported results from four drill holes, MBA-040 to MBA-043, which tested the western extension of the Maria Bonita porphyry gold system in Brazil. The company interprets the results from MBA-042 and MBA-043 as confirming a new western early porphyry body that remains open to the west and at depth.

Key intercepts from the program include:

  • MBA-042 returned three separate intervals totalling 282m downhole: 36.2m @ 0.4 g/t Au from surface, 45.4m @ 0.3 g/t Au from 61.9m, and 200.4m @ 0.3 g/t Au from 113.2m.
  • MBA-043 returned 231.5m @ 0.4 g/t Au from 93m and ended in mineralization.
  • MBA-040 returned 40.0m @ 0.1 g/t Au from 184m.
  • MBA-041 returned 10.6m @ 0.2 g/t Au from 10.6m.

The release also disclosed an 8,050,000 stock option grant at C$0.20 per share.

Material Impact

Altamira Gold Corp. (ALTA) released drilling results that confirm the existence of a separate western porphyry body at Maria Bonita, located outside the current resource boundary. The immediate western anchor holes were MBA-036, which returned 70.6m @ 0.5 g/t Au, and MBA-037, which returned 122m @ 0.5 g/t Au.

While the new holes deliver better gram-metres, the grade of the new body is approximately 0.3-0.4 g/t Au. This is below the current Maria Bonita resource grade of 0.44-0.46 g/t Au, and true widths remain unknown. The stock closed at C$0.20 before the release, near the bottom half of its 52-week range and well below its C$0.38 high.
