Southern Silver Intersects 15.3 metres Averaging 581g/t AgEq at Cerro Las Minitas Project in Durango, Mexico
Southern Silver’s high-grade Puro Corazon hits confirm resource expansion potential ahead of Q1 2026 PEA update

The news release dated January 27, 2026, reports assay results from an additional four holes (25CLM-206 through 25CLM-209) at the Cerro Las Minitas project in Durango, Mexico. The drilling specifically targeted the recently acquired Puro Corazon claim. Significant intercepts include 15.3 metres (estimated true thickness) averaging 581g/t AgEq and 22.0 metres averaging 426g/t AgEq in hole 25CLM-206. Other notable results include 1.4 metres of 583g/t AgEq and 1.1 metres of 559g/t AgEq in lateral step-outs. Management states these results demonstrate both lateral and down-dip extensions of mineralization along strike of the existing Puro Corazon workings.
- Resource Expansion: These results confirm that the high-grade mineralization at Puro Corazon is not isolated and extends into previously untested areas. This is materially positive as it provides the data necessary to incorporate this high-grade zone into the upcoming Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE).
- Economic De-risking: The Puro Corazon claim was acquired to provide faster access to high-value ore. Current intercepts of 581g/t AgEq at depths between 320m and 380m suggest robust continuity that could significantly enhance the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) in a revised Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA).
- Consistency: This is the third consecutive release (following Dec 1, 2025, and Jan 6, 2026) showing bonanza or high-grade silver-polymetallic intercepts. The program has completed approximately 6,820 metres of a planned 12,000-metre program, suggesting further news flow is likely.
- Assumptions: Investors should note that AgEq calculations are based on relatively high metal price assumptions ($32/oz Ag and $2,800/oz Au). While these reflect current spot trends, any reversion in metal prices would impact the stated equivalent grades.
- Company: Southern Silver Exploration Corp. is a Canadian explorer focused on the Cerro Las Minitas project in Durango, Mexico.
- Flagship Project: Cerro Las Minitas (CLM). It is a large-scale silver-lead-zinc-copper-gold skarn/replacement deposit.
- Stage: Resource/PEA. A July 2024 PEA outlined a large-scale underground operation.
- Puro Corazon: A 9-hectare claim acquired in 2025, integrated into CLM to provide high-grade, near-surface feed to improve project economics.
