CanAlaska Announces Assay Results from Winter Drill Program on West McArthur Project
Canalaska’s winter assays show lower radiometric grades in the Pike Zone, with no new high-grade intercepts reported.

Canalaska Uranium Ltd. (CVV) released geochemical assay results from its 2026 winter drill program at the West McArthur project. The winter campaign completed 24 unconformity tests, with 10 holes containing uranium mineralization. Drill steps of 350 m southwest and 350 m northeast were taken from the Pike Zone, defining the hydrothermal system over 1.3 km of strike and over 1.0 km containing uranium mineralization.
The best reported hole is WMA101-02, which returned 5.4 m at 1.48% U3O8, including 0.5 m at 8.42% U3O8. This interval also included separate returns of 0.5 m at 3.97% U3O8 and 0.4 m at 10.5% U3O8. Another notable hole, WMA100-02, returned 0.3 m at 0.13% U3O8 and 0.5 m at 2.89% U3O8. The remaining holes are mostly narrow, low-grade sub-0.5% U3O8 intervals. True thicknesses have not been determined; all intervals are downhole/core length.
The summer drill program is ongoing and expected to finish in September 2026. The company states it is funded with over C$25 million in treasury and remains an 88.89% owner/operator of West McArthur with Cameco.
Canalaska Uranium Ltd. (CVV) released geochemical results that confirm winter step-outs previously reported as radiometric equivalents in March and May 2026, rather than constituting a new discovery. The company remains a pre-resource explorer with no revenue and no mineral resource estimate, meaning the release adds no ounces or tonnes to its portfolio.
The best new assay fell below the Pike Zone anchor intercepts, and the main interval came in below the earlier radiometric grade. While the confirmation of a 1.3 km fertile trend is positive, it does not offset the absence of a new high-grade pod. The modest assay miss is a negative against the already-reported radiometric grade, but it does not invalidate the broader exploration thesis.
The stock has already round-tripped from its 52-week high of C$1.16 to C$0.38, indicating it is not priced for anchor-level success. The result is not transformative.
Canalaska Uranium Ltd. is an Athabasca Basin uranium explorer and project generator with a reported land position of approximately 375,000 hectares. Its flagship asset is the West McArthur Joint Venture, in which Canalaska holds an 88.89% interest alongside Cameco. The West McArthur property contains the Pike Zone high-grade discovery and the C10S corridor. Other exploration projects include Key Extension, Nebula, Cree East, Waterbury South, Moon Lake South, Voyager, and Enterprise.
No mineral resource or reserve estimate has been disclosed for the company. In its prior-period financial context, Canalaska reported a FY2026 net loss of C$20.5 million. The company held C$4.06 million in cash plus short-term investments of C$25.5 million per its MD&A, resulting in working capital of C$30.2 million. There are about 220.3 million shares outstanding. A going concern warning was disclosed in the MD&A.
