Intrepid Metals Launches First Systematic Exploration Program at Mattie Gold Prospect
Intrepid advances its Corral district model with systematic soil sampling at the Mattie gold prospect ahead of planned September drilling.

Intrepid Metals Corp. has launched a systematic rock and soil sampling initiative at the Mattie Gold Prospect, part of its Corral Copper Project in Arizona. The company intends to gather approximately 1,170 soil samples distributed across a 1,900 by 1,500-meter grid with 50-meter spacing. This effort aims to delineate the surface footprint of gold mineralization and identify precise targets for a subsequent diamond drilling program scheduled for September 2026.
Mattie represents a distinct, gold-focused mineralization style at Corral, separate from the previously identified carbonate replacement deposit (CRD) and porphyry copper targets. The sampling program is expected to take three weeks to complete. It precedes a planned approximately 65 line-kilometer induced polarization (IP) geophysical survey in August and a roughly 5,000-meter drill program in September targeting high-priority porphyry zones.
Intrepid Metals Corp. (INTR) announced expected, incremental exploration activity that aligns with the company's previously outlined 2026 exploration roadmap. This follows the May 2026 identification of gold mineralization at Mattie and the July 14, 2026 identification of the "Curly" porphyry target.
The systematic soil sampling is a standard preparatory step to refine geological models and prioritize drill holes; it does not constitute a discovery or assay result.
Intrepid Metals Corp. (INTR) is a pre-revenue exploration company focused on high-grade copper, gold, silver, and zinc projects in southeastern Arizona. Its flagship Corral Copper Project spans a 42 km² land package in Cochise County, Arizona, near the historic Bisbee mining district. The project hosts multiple styles of mineralization, including CRD, porphyry copper-gold, and skarn systems, with over 50,000 meters of historical drilling.
The company also holds interests in the Tombstone South (Zn-Pb-Ag) and Mesa Well (Cu) properties. Management has consolidated the Corral land package through recent acquisitions, including Cave Creek Copper Inc. and the Viewsite claims, positioning the company for accelerated exploration and potential development studies.
