Intrepid Metals Selects Major Drilling for 10,000-Metre Drill Program, Including First Porphyry Tests at Corral Copper Project in Arizona
Intrepid secures $18.8m cash runway as it advances to first porphyry drilling at its Corral Copper project.

Intrepid Metals Corp. has selected Major Drilling Group International Inc. as the contractor for a planned 10,000-meter drill program at its Corral Copper Project in Arizona. The program is scheduled to commence in early September 2026.
Approximately 5,000 meters will focus on expanding near-surface Carbonate Replacement Deposit (CRD) mineralization across the Ringo, Clanton, Earp, and Holliday zones. The remaining 5,000 meters will test high-priority porphyry copper-gold targets, with the first dedicated porphyry drilling expected in mid-to-late October 2026 following interpretation of IP-MT ground geophysical survey results.
The release reiterates historical drilling highlights from 2024-2025, showcasing high-grade copper, gold, and silver intercepts across multiple holes. This announcement follows the August 6 filing of an NI 43-101 Technical Report and the August 13 SWIR spectral analysis results that identified a northeast-trending alteration corridor strengthening the "Curly" porphyry target.
Intrepid Metals Corp. (INTR) has confirmed a previously announced exploration plan and the selection of a contractor, aligning with the company’s stated 2026 work program. The market was already aware of the planned 10,000-meter program and the focus on porphyry targets following the July and August exploration updates. The selection of a major contractor and the firm September start date de-risks the execution timeline but does not introduce fundamentally new information or unexpected catalysts. Financially, the company holds approximately $18.8 million in cash, providing ample runway to fund this program without immediate dilutive financing.
Intrepid Metals Corp. (INTR) is a pre-revenue exploration company focused on high-grade copper, gold, and silver in southeastern Arizona. Its flagship asset is the Corral Copper Project, a district-scale property covering approximately 42 km². The project hosts multiple styles of mineralization, including high-grade Carbonate Replacement Deposits (CRD) and emerging porphyry copper-gold systems. Historical district production includes ~49 million lbs Cu, ~5 million oz Ag, and ~68,000 oz Au. The company also holds exploration properties at Tombstone South and Mesa Well.
