Eagle Plains and American Eagle Gold Corp Execute Option Agreement for the Hearne Hill South, Jinx and NAK NW Copper-Gold Projects, British Columbia
Eagle Plains secures the Babine porphyry option with marquee partners to advance its exploration portfolio.

Eagle Plains Resources Ltd. and American Eagle Gold Corp. have executed an option agreement granting American Eagle the exclusive right to earn up to an 80% interest in the Hearne Hill South, Jinx, and NAK NW copper-gold projects in British Columbia. Under the terms of Phase 1, American Eagle must pay CA$400,000 in cash, issue 1,200,000 common shares, and fund CA$4,850,000 in exploration expenditures over six years to acquire a 60% interest.
The agreement allows American Eagle to increase its stake to 80% through Phase 2 for an additional CA$1,000,000, which is partially payable in shares. Eagle Plains retains a 2% smelter returns royalty, with an option to buy back 1% for CA$2,500,000. American Eagle is backed by approximately $50 million in cash and strategic shareholders including South32, Teck Resources, Ore Group, and Eric Sprott. The transaction expands American Eagle's land position in the Babine Porphyry District and adds to Eagle Plains' portfolio of 18 optioned/JV projects.
Eagle Plains Resources Ltd. (EPL) continues to execute its established project-generator model, which involves assembling land packages and monetizing them through option agreements with well-capitalized partners. The transaction includes strategic investors South32, Teck, and Eric Sprott, providing a higher-quality counterparty than typical junior explorers, which reduces execution risk and increases the likelihood of successful exploration spend.
The deal represents a routine portfolio expansion that aligns with the company's stated strategy rather than a transformative event or immediate revenue inflection.
Eagle Plains Resources Ltd. (EPL) operates a project-generator model, acquiring and exploring early-stage mineral properties in British Columbia and Saskatchewan. The company leverages its in-house geological subsidiary, TerraLogic Exploration, to execute exploration programs and generate service revenue.
The portfolio spans uranium projects in Uranium City, copper-gold assets including Theory, Hearne Hill South, and Iron Range, and base metals holdings at George Lake and Black Diamond. Additionally, the company maintains a clean energy subsidiary, Osprey Power, which targets renewable energy site assessments. Management emphasizes a strategy of minimizing dilution through joint ventures and retaining royalty interests.
