Regulus Announces Completion of Mineral Resource Estimate for Integrated Coimolache Sulphide/AntaKori Copper-Gold Project

Regulus Resources Inc. has completed the first phase of its collaboration agreement with Compañía Minera Coimolache S.A., marking the conclusion of a mineral resource estimate (MRE) for the integrated Coimolache Sulphides/AntaKori copper-gold project. The MRE was conducted by SRK Peru and represents the first fully unconstrained resource estimate created by a third party, a process that removed property boundaries to focus solely on mineralization.
While the specific results of the new MRE are not being made public at this time, the completion marks a significant milestone for regional collaboration. An internal report has been distributed to the parties involved. Public release of the MRE and any subsequent Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) results requires mutual agreement and regulatory approvals. The agreement includes an option to complete a PEA following the MRE, contingent on mutual agreement, though no timeline for a decision on the PEA is currently available.
John Black, CEO, commented on the development: “The completion of the Integrated Resource Estimate constitutes a milestone for both Regulus and our neighbours. This is the first fully unconstrained resource estimate created by a third-party, removing property boundaries and focusing solely on mineralization. While we don’t anticipate the report being made public, the completion of the study still represents a significant step forward for the region, as it allows all parties to understand the value that can be unlocked in the district via collaboration.”
The collaboration milestone follows the agreement announced on July 25, 2024, between Regulus Resources Inc. and Compañía Minera Coimolache S.A. The MRE was designed to evaluate the viability of an integrated Coimolache Sulphides/AntaKori project.
Historical data for the AntaKori project includes a 2019 resource estimate which reported the following figures:
- Indicated: 250 million tonnes at 0.48% Cu, 0.29 g/t Au, 7.5 g/t Ag.
- Inferred: 267 million tonnes at 0.41% Cu, 0.26 g/t Au, 7.8 g/t Ag.
Drilling history on AntaKori from 1997 to 2022 totals 71,762.04 meters. Since the 2019 resource estimate, Regulus has completed 31,666.99 meters of drilling. The scientific and technical data for the 2019 AntaKori mineral resource estimate was reviewed and approved by Dr. Kevin B. Heather, Chief Geological Officer, FAusIMM, under National Instrument 43-101.
