Salazar Resources Further Defines Copper-Gold Porphyry Mineralization at Monja Project, Ecuador, with Rock Samples Up To 1.71% Cu and Strong Soil Anomalies

Salazar tests porphyry fertility at Monja while El Domo construction costs rise to $284 million.

Executive Summary

Salazar Resources Limited has released surface sampling and geological mapping results from its 100%-owned Monja Project in Ecuador. Rock sampling identified high-grade copper-gold porphyry-style mineralization, with Sample 200101 returning 1.71% Cu, 0.99 g/t Au, and 10.3 g/t Ag.

Statistical analysis of the rock data shows that 64% of 99 samples returned copper values exceeding 300 ppm, while 20% exceeded 1,000 ppm Cu. Soil sampling conducted on a 100m x 100m grid returned 70% of samples above 100 ppm Cu, with a high of 2,442 ppm.

Geological mapping along "Creek 1" confirmed strong stockwork veining, averaging approximately 10 veins per meter, alongside alteration styles including propylitic, phyllic, and argillic zones. These features are consistent with a vertically and laterally zoned porphyry system. The mineralized footprint is defined over an area of approximately 1.5 km by 0.5 km.

Next steps for the project include continued surface geochemical work, mapping, and planning for future geophysical surveys to refine drill targets.

Material Impact

Salazar Resources Limited (SRL) released results on June 30, 2026, following its April 8, 2026 announcement that identified the Monja project as a high-priority copper-gold porphyry target. The surface sampling results are consistent with the initial geological interpretation and confirm the fertility of the central porphyry core. This represents expected exploration progression rather than a new discovery or drill result, validating the company's geological model without materially changing the project's development timeline or capital requirements. The news is incremental, expected, and routine in the context of early-stage exploration.

Company Overview

Salazar Resources Limited (SRL) is an Ecuador-focused exploration and development company. Its flagship project is El Domo, part of the Curipamba Project, a polymetallic VMS copper-gold-silver deposit currently under construction. Salazar holds a 25% carried interest in the project, with Silvercorp Metals funding capital costs to production.

The company’s exploration portfolio includes the Monja (Cu-Au porphyry), Santiago (Cu-Au porphyry/epithermal), Tarqui-Quimi (Cu-Mo porphyry & high-grade Au-Ag veins), Pijili (Cu-Au-Mo porphyry), and El Tigre (VMS polymetallic) projects. Management is led by CEO Fredy Salazar, who has over 30 years of experience in Ecuador and served as a former Newmont Exploration Manager, playing an instrumental role in the discovery of Fruta del Norte. The Qualified Person for the company is Kieran Downes, P.Geo.
