Sun Life arranges $1-billion debenture offering

An anonymous director reports SUN LIFE ANNOUNCES OFFERING OF SUBORDINATED UNSECURED DEBENTURES Sun Life Financial Inc. intends to issue in Canada $1-billion principal amount of Series 2025-1 subordinated unsecured 4.14 per cent fixed/floating debentures due 2037. The offering is expected to close on Sept. 11, 2025. The net proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, which may include supporting the acquisition of the company's remaining interests in the SLC Management affiliates BentallGreenOak and Crescent Capital Group LP, investments in subsidiaries, repayment of indebtedness, and other strategic investments. Details of the offering will be set out in a pricing supplement that the company intends to issue pursuant to its short form base shelf prospectus and its prospectus supplement, each dated March 17, 2025, all of which are or will be available on the SEDAR+ profile for Sun Life at SEDAR+. The debentures will be sold on a reasonable best effort agency basis by a syndicate led by RBC Capital Markets, CIBC Capital Markets and TD Securities as co-leads.
