Alaska Hydro submits interest for BC Hydro power call

Mr. Cliff Grandison reports ALASKA HYDRO ANNOUNCES CALL FOR POWER & INTEREST FOR CAPACITY Alaska Hydro Corp. has submitted its interest in BC Hydro's Call for Power 2025 and the request for expressions of interest (RFEOI) in supplying baseload power capacity. BC Hydro's Call for Power 2025 is a request for power (RFP) due on or before Jan. 5, 2026. A mandatory interconnection request submission (CEAP) is due on or before Sept. 1, 2025, with a deadline for CEAP amendments of Oct. 2, 2025. The company has not yet undertaken the CEAP. Optional registration is due on or before Sept. 12, 2025, and the company has filed the required registration form. The RFP requires a minimum first nation equity participation of 25 per cent. At this time, the company does not have any undertaking with the first nation regarding equity participation, and the company is not assured that the first nation will participate. BC Hydro's RFEOI is to due for submission on or before Sept. 8, 2025. The company has already made a submission, which may be amended should comments from BC Hydro arise. The company's project is a proposed 75-megawatt hydroelectric plant and includes a dam and storage reservoir. The proposed facility would be located on More Creek in northwestern British Columbia.
