IAMGOLD Reports Third Quarter 2026 Results

IMG · Price

IAMGOLD Corporation (NYSE: IMG; TSX: IMG) reported strong third-quarter 2026 financial results, generating $297.0 million in net earnings and $404.3 million in mine-site free cash flow. The performance was driven by higher realized gold prices averaging $4,277/oz. The company produced 186,900 attributable ounces of gold in the quarter, maintaining its full-year guidance of 720,000 to 820,000 ounces. Key operational milestones included Côté Gold operating above nameplate capacity and Essakane remaining a significant cash flow contributor.

Total attributable production for the third quarter was 186,900 ounces, bringing year-to-date production to 558,600 ounces. At Côté Gold, which is 70% owned by IAMGOLD, production totaled 64,400 ounces in the third quarter and 184,000 ounces year-to-date. Westwood, a 100% owned asset, produced 28,500 ounces in the third quarter and 97,100 ounces year-to-date. Essakane, an 85% owned asset, contributed 94,000 ounces in the third quarter and 277,500 ounces year-to-date.

Financial performance for the third quarter of 2026 included revenues of $856.5 million. Net earnings attributable to equity holders were $297.0 million, or $0.52 per share, while adjusted net earnings attributable to equity holders were $237.0 million, or $0.42 per share. Cash cost per ounce sold, excluding royalties, was $1,266, and all-in sustaining cost (AISC) per ounce sold, excluding royalties, was $1,836.

The company completed significant corporate transactions during the period. IAMGOLD exercised its contractual right to repurchase 50% of Franco-Nevada’s 7.5% Gross Margin Royalty on Côté Gold. The estimated cost for this repurchase is approximately $525 million, with an expected close in December 2026. Following the repurchase, IAMGOLD’s effective GMR burden on Côté is expected to reduce from 7.5% to 2.14%. Additionally, the company completed the sale of its 35% interest in the Bambadji Joint Venture in Senegal for gross proceeds of $69.7 million, resulting in net proceeds of $48.0 million after taxes and transaction costs.

Capital allocation and shareholder returns remained a priority. IAMGOLD repurchased 7.6 million shares for $134.7 million in the third quarter. Total repurchases since the program’s inception in December 2025 are now 32.1 million shares for $592.6 million. The company also repatriated $87.8 million in dividends from Essakane in the third quarter and an additional $135.8 million subsequent to quarter end from the 2026 dividend declaration.

Operationally, Côté Gold completed its first full quarter without contractor crushing and operated above nameplate capacity of 36,000 tpd in September. At Westwood, the company identified gold-bearing sludge in the electrowinning circuit, with an illustrative estimate suggesting approximately 30,000 ounces of gold potential, subject to refining and assay. At Essakane, the security situation in Burkina Faso remains a focus, and the company received a temporary exemption from the local refining mandate.

Looking ahead, IAMGOLD maintained its 2026 production guidance of 720,000 to 820,000 ounces. AISC guidance (excluding royalties) is set at $1,675 to $1,825/oz. Capital expenditure guidance includes sustaining capital of $380 million (±5%) and expansion capital of $120 million (±5%).

"IAMGOLD delivered another quarter of strong performance, operating safely across our sites and producing 186,900 attributable ounces. We remain on track to achieve our full-year guidance of 720,000 to 820,000 ounces," said Renaud Adams, President and Chief Executive Officer.

"The Company generated $404 million in mine-site free cash flow, our net cash position increased resulting in available liquidity of $1.6 billion. We returned a further $135 million to shareholders through our share buyback, bringing total repurchases to nearly $600 million since the program began last December."
