Study confirms FireFly on track to be a significant copper producer
FireFly’s Green Bay project confirms an A$2.2 billion NPV and a closed A$180 million raise, with a definitive feasibility study scheduled for Q1 2027.

FireFly Metals Ltd. (FFM) released its quarterly update for the period ending September 30, 2026, on October 28, 2026. FireFly Metals Ltd is a Canadian-Australian mining company focused on the Green Bay Copper-Gold Project in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The flagship project encompasses the historic Ming Mine, Little Deer, Tilt Cove, Nugget Pond, and Rambler targets across a 346 km² 100% owned land package.
The project is currently in the development and early works stage. An environmental assessment was released in June 2025, and early works commenced in April 2026. The proposed mining method is Long Hole Open Stoping (LHOS) with paste backfill. Haulage will utilize 63-tonne trucks for the base case, with a 7.6m diameter shaft planned for the upscaled case.
Processing involves a standard SAG/Ball Mill and two-stage flotation circuit, achieving greater than 98% copper recovery and greater than 80% precious metal recovery. The site is located approximately 5 km from a deep-water port and 1.5 hours from commercial airports. It is bisected by a 138 kV hydro transmission line. Existing infrastructure includes an underground portal, surface facilities, and a camp capable of housing more than 250 people.
