XXIX Metal Launches ~65,000 Metre Drilling Campaign with up to Six Rigs to Be Turning by January as the Company Advances Toward Resource Updates and the Opemiska Pre-Feasibility Study

XXIX Metal launches a 65,000m drill campaign to target resource updates and a preliminary feasibility study.

Executive Summary

XXIX Metal Corp. has launched its largest drilling campaign to date, comprising approximately 65,000 metres of diamond drilling across three concurrent programs at its Thierry, Opemiska, and Cooke projects in Ontario and Quebec. The initiative will utilize up to six active drill rigs by January 2027.

At the Thierry Project in Ontario, the company is conducting approximately 25,000 metres of drilling to define the K1 deposit under a new bulk-tonnage geological interpretation and to support an updated mineral resource estimate. Two rigs have been active at this site since July 2026.

Work at the Opemiska Project in Quebec involves approximately 20,000 metres of drilling aimed at converting resources to Measured and Indicated categories for the upcoming Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS). This program also targets infill pit periphery and eastern veins, with two rigs scheduled to mobilize in November 2026.

Simultaneously, the Cooke Project in Quebec is receiving approximately 20,000 metres of drilling to establish a maiden mineral resource estimate and evaluate integration into the Opemiska PFS as a second open-pit source. The first rig at Cooke is mobilizing mid-November 2026.

The release outlines a clear catalyst timeline through 2027, including continuous assay releases, updated mineral resource estimates, and the expected filing of the Opemiska PFS in late 2027.

Material Impact

XXIX Metal Corp. (XXIX) has begun the execution phase of its fully funded 2026 exploration plan, which was previously outlined in February 2026. The program involves 65,000 meters of drilling across six rigs, aligning with management's stated objectives to advance the Opemiska project toward a Preliminary Feasibility Study (PFS) and validate the Thierry K1 reinterpretation.

The company did not raise new capital and remains fully funded through 2026/2027 with approximately $19 million in cash. This announcement represents a routine progression of previously disclosed milestones, confirming operational momentum without introducing fundamentally new information or unexpected catalysts.

Company Overview

XXIX Metal Corp. is a Canadian exploration and development company focused on copper and gold projects in Quebec and Ontario. Its flagship asset is the Opemiska Project in Quebec, a 100%-owned, royalty-free copper-gold deposit spanning 21,333 hectares. A preliminary economic assessment released in October 2025 outlined a 12,500 tpd open-pit operation over a 17-year mine life. The study calculated an after-tax NPV8% of C$505 million, an IRR of 27.2%, and a 2.3-year payback period, based on base case pricing of US$4.35/lb Cu and US$3,000/oz Au.

The company also holds the Thierry Project in Ontario, a 100%-owned, royalty-free property hosting the K1 and K2 zones. Historical reinterpretation models K1 as a near-surface, disseminated bulk-tonnage copper-PGE system, while K2 represents a higher-grade underground opportunity. Additionally, XXIX Metal Corp. is evaluating the Cooke Project in Quebec, a past-producing mine located approximately 2 km east of Opemiska, as a potential satellite deposit to provide incremental feed to the Opemiska operation. The region features strong infrastructure, including road access, hydroelectric power, rail, and proximity to the Horne Smelter.
